From Harney & Sons

We first were exposed to this delicious black tea from Nepal when Emeric and his husband Rob had returned from their trip to the area in 2017 but unfortunately, none was available for purchase. This year we were able to get some to share with you! This black tea is made with many manufacturing hours, where it’s withered for a generous 36 hours, rolled for 3 and then oxidized for 6 hours. It is then fired at a very low temperature which allows the unique chocolate flavors to remain.

Details: A sweet, chocolatey black tea from Nepal.
Dry Leaves: Medium sized black twists with golden tips
Liquor: Walnut brown
Aroma: Chocolate
Caffeine Level: Caffeinated
Body: Medium-bodied
Flavors: Deep, creamy chocolatey flavors

Fairly pedestrian black tea. Nothing special to my tastes.

Received a pile of Harney & Sons samples for the holidays, so may post reviews of some of the more notable ones.

Really beautiful leaves on this tea. A smooth, graceful red, with some floral qualities. I don’t get to the cocoa, but there’s a sandalwood undercurrent and some spiciness. Smooth and sweet overall.
