Overboard TTB #13

I got a HUGE dried blueberry in my scoop of this tea which got me super excited… unfortunately once brewed it smells exactly like sweet nerds candy to me which is a little off putting… taste wise its a little chemically and although I get a significant fruit flavor I wouldn’t necessarily say that it was blueberry… or maybe I would but I would say its chemical blueberry.. Afraid this wasn’t a win for me at all… my search for the perfect blueberry tea continues…

Have you had Adagio’s Green Rooibos Blueberry? That’s the best one I’ve found so far.

beelicious

I haven’t, I’ll have to get my hands on some… Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Have you tried Cassis & Blueberry from Lupicia?

beelicious

You know what… I’ve actually got a tea bag of the cassis & blueberry lying around here somewhere from my Lupicia Happy Bag… I’ll have to find it today and give it a try… Thanks!!

To me, this tea comes across more as blueberry jam than as fresh blueberries. Not complaining, though…I love blueberry jam! The base is quite nice too: smooth and sweet and lightly vegetal. I would definitely drink this one again!

I was at the bookstore today and saw a tin of this. It was just too beautiful! I love the silver and blue together. You could actually smell the blueberry before opening the wrapping on the lid of the container. I really needed a pick me up morning tea and something fruity sounded like a perfect flavor.
The blueberry flavoring is pretty good. It is not quite as balanced as I’d like it, as the blueberry is heavily dominant. But there are notes of nice green tea in there as well. I was surprised this wasn’t bitter because I steeped in water that was quite hot. What surprised me was how thick the mouthfeel was. I will likely try it with milk/soymilk later like the cashier had suggested.

I picked this one out this morning because my Doctor told me to drink more green tea, Dr Shou, ironically. It is quite good, however the blueberry flavor is a little weak. The tea beneath it is vegetal and not bitter.

I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and 175 degree water for 3 min.
