From Happy Turtle Tea

Fans of Outlander, you don’t need to look any further. Our dark and robust black tea blend, A Scot on the Rocks will provide you with a dark, enticing cup of whiskey tea that will make you feel like you are being whispered to in a brooding Scottish brogue, and it won’t matter that you are sitting on rocks!

This tea blend is inspired by none other than Diana Gabaldon’s Scottish Highlander, James Fraser. Like its namesake, we start off with a full-bodied, malty black Assam tea and then we add hazelnuts and almonds, a little hazelnut brittle, and top it off with our own bourbon whiskey infused sugar. Talk about the perfect recipe! Try adding a finger of whiskey and you will have yourself a lovely nighttime tea treat. Or, use this blend to make an infused ice cream, then cover it with hot chocolate sauce.

I purchased from a few new-to-me brands on Black Friday, with Happy Turtle being one of them. I love fandom/themed tea blends, and Happy Turtle has no shortage of them. They also offer sample sizes, which is a necessity for me at this point in my tea tasting journey. Received my order super quickly, with 3 samples included! The packages of tea also feature art related to the fandom the tea is associated with. Really impressed so far!

This blend intrigued me because of the addition of bourbon infused sugar, which I’ve never seen in a tea blend before.

Brewed up, this smells quite chocolatey and nutty. Like a hazelnut brownie. Tastes absolutely delicious- the bourbon is mild and works well with the hazelnut and almonds.
As it cools, I’m starting to smell more of the almond.

Would absolutely recommend this blend, and this brand!

This looks like a great company and the shipping cost is very reasonable! Might have to place an order in 2021.

I’ve never heard of them before! Do we know if they are doing their own blending?

Sounds like they definitely are from this page: https://happyturtletea.com/about-us/

It appears they have a website and an Etsy shop. I added some more of their teas to the Steepster Database. (:
