This was the second of a three pack sampler I ordered from Golden Moon Tea.

I steeped the tea for, initially, 3 and 1/2 minutes but it was so weak I put it back in for a total of 5 minutes and I feel like I should have steeped it for longer but it began to develop a bitter aftertaste so I would limit another steep to 4 and 1/2 minutes.

The tea is very subtle. So subtle it reminds me of drinking a watery mouthwash. I don’t like it, at all, and I tend to like mint teas in small servings (1-2 cups).

The coloring is lovely, a golden yellow, so I was anticipating a lovely brew, so it was a letdown that the flavor did not carry through.

I have to say I had no trouble tasting the green tea, which was a nice surprise.

While 2 of the 3 teas I’ve sampled from Golden Moon Tea have been a letdown I would buy other teas from them. I think its just the samples I received not being my style and not so much the quality of tea I’ve received. I’m not a fan of gunpowder style teas which is probably why this mint tea was a miss for me.

This is the best Moroccan Mint that I have ever tasted. Sweet, smooth, buttery, and refreshing.

I enjoy mint tea and spearmint is a favorite type of mint so I figured I would love this tea. I liked it very much but still searching for that perfect mint tea.

The dry tea smells very minty like Trident gum but I found the flavour to be curiously bland. The mint was present and not much else as the gunpowder base seemed rather weak. I think I prefer the black-green mix of the Vanilla Mint blend which gave the tea more body. I find this blend to be only okay.

Mint all the way, not much tea taste, but good.

Very pleasantly surprised by this! This was my first time trying gunpowder, so I’m definitely interested in trying gunpowder on its own soon. The little rolled up leaves are so cute, as are the bright green mint leaves in this blend. A very pretty blend, if I do say so. The mint was strong, almost overpowering when I brewed it, but I guess that could be because I was having it iced. I have yet to try it hot but iced with or without sugar is great. Still minty, but not too overdone.

Very minty aroma (think Doublemint gum). Prepared with sugar. Minty flavor with a bit of an ashy kick at the end (the gunpowder?) Deciding whether to steep a second time. Moving on—

UGH! The tea is good, but memories of this make me shutter. This was when I drank tea only cuz it was supposed to help me lose weight. I didn’t like the taste so I added mint to every tea I drank. And I steeped all my tea for 5 min…. I want to smack my former self! So much better when steeped properly.
