I won these teas in a contest that was run by Dan on Steepster that was great fun, and got me tea prizes! Dan will be running the contest monthly, so keep an eye out!

I find the labels on the tea samples to be perfect, they include the company name, tea name, tea type, and steeping directions. I have been informed that the samples that you buy on the web site, or any teas purchased on the site, will come in food safe, plastic lined, kraft bags which keep light out and keep the tea fresh for about 4-5 months. Tea is best stored in tins which are not clear and air tight, since light activates the steeping process and moisture as well. The sample bags I received were about 2-3 cups each, where purchased samples are larger.

Post-Steep Additives: 1 packet white sugar
Now I get an aftertaste of dried pineapple snacks

I am not in love with this cup, sadly I now expect teas to dance and sing before I wow them, but I am enjoying it, and can hear the beach lapping in the back of my mind with a nice cool breeze.

I gave the rest to a co-worker who also enjoys tea to try – I’m sharing the bounty! There was enough for another cup or two

What I really like about this review is that you’ve taken the responsibility of winning seriously! You are setting a good example for all of us. Just let me say thanks from your Steepster community.

TeaEqualsBliss

It WAS great fun! And you kicked arse, AmazonV!

gmathis

Sounds like it’d be yummy on ice.

AmazonV

@TeaParT thanks – I figured Dan was nice enough to have the contest and I won the teas I might as well try and let everyone know all about them before he runs the next contest do they have a better chance of picking out teas for their winnings :)

I can’t wait for the next contest! (even w/out free tea it was fun)

AmazonV

@TeaEqualsBliss I hope your internet connection behaves next time! thanks :) i think we were all twitchy and afraid to blink ;)

AmazonV

@gmathis ooo good point cold brew would probably work very well, but i am sharing the tea love and it’s already gone on my co-worker :( (plus i have no refrigerator or ice at work)

So I decided to do another tea drinking marathon. This was first up. And it’s not to bad. It’s a pretty standard black tea with pineapple flavor. Got a giant chunk of dried pineapple when measuring out a cup’s worth.
Tried it plain and you couldn’t really taste too much of the pineapple. Decided to try a bit of brown sugar in this instead of my usual truvia. Next time I might try the truvia, but I really liked it with the brown sugar. The pineapple came out nicely, though for a pineapple tea I wish it would’ve been a bit stronger. It’s just very subtle and tasty. The black base is also pretty nice by not being too bitter or overly astringent for me. I want to say it’s a Ceylon base, but I’m not entirely certain so correct me if I’m wrong. The dry leaves are a curled like little balls if that helps. Lol.
I’m not sure this would make a good iced tea. I have a feeling it might turn bitter and the pineapple wouldn’t really come through very well.
Overall (yes I like saying that. XD) I’d reorder this unless I find another pineapple black tea that I like better.

Again!! The black tea base really takes over the flavor. This one is worse though…I don’t taste pineapple at all. What a disappointment :(
Glad I didn’t waste my money on this one either, because it really did sound good to me.
I think I might just stay with Snowflake from this company, and that’s all :/
Thank you The Cookie Lady for this sample!

I tried this as it was in the TTB I currently have. I was in the mood for a black based tea as is frequent. I like the Upside Down versions of black tea, so thought this might be a nice one to try.

I sweetened it with a bit of natural sugar to help bring out the pineapple. It was present, but I think if I didn’t know it was supposed to be pineapple I might just call it a fruit tea, w/no berries. It was a nice tea, but not what I was hoping for … I must be a sucker for the “cake” versions ;)
