Thank you Dexter3657 for the chance to try this tea. It really does smell amazingly like delicious mango. Alas, this follows suit of so many other french teas and falls short when it comes to the taste. It is still pleasant but I feel as though I am not sophisticated enough to truly appreciate the subtle nuances of so many French teas I have tried.
Finally brought in a thermometer and have found out that it is 53°F in my office. Not acceptable!
Have to warm up with tea. Fortunately I have a sample of this one from MissB! I almost bought a tin of this at TJ Maxx when it was around and I wondered if I would regret not picking it up. Well, this is quite tasty, but I’m not completely broken up about not having a tin of it. I have a number of mango teas around right now anyway. But I’m not saying that I wouldn’t pick up a tin if I happened across one again. :)

This seems a lot more subtle on the flavoring than the Apricot…shrug
Super glad I got to try all these Fauchon samples. I know I am curious to try more but hesitant to pay big money for them unless I’ve already tried them and fallen in love like I did with La Naissance!

They were gone by the time I got over there. Winners/TJMaxx carried them coming two years now? They need to bring them back!
MissB was super duper kind to pass some of this down to me in the grab bag. The mango notes are incredibly subtle here, but I don’t know if it has always been like that or if it has to do with age. It’s also halfway between mango and peach. Not a clear mango.
In regards to the base, I am picking up on a slight smokiness that I get in some of Nina’s teas. Remember, I have an incredibly sensitive palate when it comes to any smokiness whatsoever. I’m by no means talking about Lapsang-level smoke, but rather the slightest undertone. Even so, I’m personally not a fan of that. The base also tastes on the dry side.
Ultimately, this would have been more my thing had they used a different base. But I can see some people being a fan of this.
Hm. Have I really not had this since I bought it? So weird. I’ve shared it with countless people now.
Regardless, I’ve got a tin of this still from prior to my trip to Europe, and during my “where are all my teas” fun times, I came across this. Sure, why not? I’ll try it.
Smells delicious. Juicy, ripe mango and peach. Tasting it, it’s just okay. There’s the mango/peach flavor, then something odd that’s got me making a face. Paper-y? Dry? A touch off in the sweetness? I don’t quite get it, but I’m happy to share it with all the folks who want to try French teas, and I know that Fauchon (and The O Dor) are the two the most difficult to get here. So, share pile it is! :)
1.5 tsp in 12 oz, 2.5 minutes at 180F.
Flavors: Mango, Paper, Peach
I recently purchased this from Shadowfall in her stash sale. My very first Fauchon, hooray! And I have a couple more on the way from Hapatite’s sale. Mango is one of my favorite fruits, I just love its unique sweet and juicy but almost piney taste. So I’m always excited when I get to try a mango-flavored tea, although none have impressed me too much so far. The dry leaf smells nice but quite subtle, which is what I honestly expect from French teas. I didn’t bother to look up any parameters, I just used the same method I use for my Kusmi flavored blacks.
I actually find myself really liking this tea! The flavor is definitely more subtle than most, but it is in no way difficult to find. I would describe it as a blend of peach and mango rather than pure mango, but I do love peaches too! The black tea base is smooth and unobtrusive, and not bitter at all. I couldn’t tell you what kind of tea it is, but I would guess there’s some Ceylon in there somewhere. The base and the flavor go very nicely together. I added a bit of sugar, which really helped to bring out that mango-peach yumminess. Overall, I like this a lot and it definitely makes me excited to try more of Fauchon’s teas. I hope they’re on Vente-Privee soon! ;)

The tin I have just says China Black Tea – so not sure exactly what base it is. I like it too, I like Fauchon in general. I feel this style of French tea is more “scented” than “flavored” – but it works for me. Happy you are enjoying it. :))
(Dexter is likely to buy ALL the Fauchon when she finds them…)
I’m sure I’ll buy several types if they ever go on sale on Vente-Privee… :P
This sounds great! I’ve seen Fauchon teas at Home Goods, so you might want to give them a look. I saw the Earl Grey there as well as their less fancy boxed teas.
My boyfriends mom makes delicious mango jam and gave me a jar. Lately I’ve been mixing a spoonful into my peach Greek yogurt in the morning. The flavor combo is delicious. I actually just finish the last of my jar in my yogurt this morning and was quite sad.

I drank this hot yesterday. It was a good balance between the black tea base and the mango. I could definitely identify the mango in this and it was pretty tasty. Nothing about the base tasted cardboard-ish. It was just a yummy fruity tea. I plan to make the rest of this as an ice tea as I think this will shine a bit more cold.
