From Eden Foods

Eden Organic Sencha Green tea Camellia sinensis is the finest in Japan, Uji cha. The earliest Spring leaves from the Kyoto area are tended, harvested, and prepared exactly as they have been for centuries. Freshly hand picked leaves are immediately steamed and rubbed sealing in flavor and aroma while preserving the bright green color before drying. These traditional techniques are essential in providing the experience sought by tea aficionados the world over. An uplifting tea with healthy antioxidant ‘catechins’ and 41% less caffeine than coffee. Freshly steeped loose tea leaves produce the most satisfying pot of tea. Eden teas never contain artificial coloring, additives, or chemicals.

This is an everyday type of Sencha. Being in this category it is a top performer! This is Organic which is rare for Sencha, that does not always mean anything, however the growing area is ideal. Away from Radiation and large cities in Japan. I really enjoy this tea. It has the classic steamed vegetal taste that is creamy. The taste is not bitter but balanced. I buy 2 ounces from Vitacost for about $7. I feel the value and quality is excellent for Sencha tea.
