This is unlike any other green tea I’ve steeped.

The dried leaves are a dark green, but become a lighter leaf green when wet.

The taste, to me, is rich and full-bodied. Its intensity is well above that of standard green tea, and maybe a slight notch below gunpowder green.

It might sound weird, but I get a hint of hot, cooked bacon in this tea. That’s the best way I can identify the unique flavor of these leaves.

When it goes into the mouth, you immediately sense that this is a “different” sort of green tea. The rich, slightly smoky flavor quickly fills the mouth, and goes down without any bitterness.

1 minute seems like the perfect steep if you prefer a little subtlety, which I do. I wouldn’t go longer than 2 minutes. You’ll get plenty of the bold bacon into the water in that amount of time.

This tea is best if you steep it, then put it in the fridge and drink it cold later. I add stevia liquid to it, and it’s a wonderful treat in the summer!

My rating is based on this steeping/drinking method.

My favorite gunpowder green is from Mountain Rose Herbs. I usually fill half of a large tea-ball for steeping in my 32-oz pot.

These Numi teabags just don’t contain enough tea. I can see a single bag working for a single cup, but with all other teas, I can usually get a tasty pot-full from a single bag.

I like my gunpowder green to be intense and smoky. I’m just not getting that out of this bag. I need to try a single cup and see how that differs.

NOTE: I always manually decaf green tea before steeping the pot. I soak the bag for 30 seconds, then dump the water, then fill the pot. This obviously removes a bit of kick from each pot.

If you like ginger, this is a great one. Personally, I like stevia leaf with my ginger, and there is none in here. Also, I’m not sure if the cinnamon is cassia or ceylon (I’m guessing cassia). Ceylon would probably sweeten it a bit more.

I’m also glad to find a tea without hibiscus (I’ve wondered if it gives me headaches) or licorice root (raises blood pressure).

The blend here is very nice. It’s a tasty product with all organic ingredients. I recommend it!

I think, for me, jasmine teas typically have too much jasmine in them. I love the aroma and delicate flavor, but it’s just too much. I would prefer just a slight hint of jasmine.

As far as jasmine greens go, this is almost as good as any I’ve tried. I’m still working on the best steeping time. I steep it with 1 bag in my 32-oz pot. I used to do 3 or 3.5 minutes. Now, I think 1 minute might be best. No matter what, the jasmine always seems to be too strong for me, making it difficult to drink much of it.

This tea is so close to being perfect. But I have 2 issues with it:

1. It is licorice-based, and therefore will raise your blood pressure, so you have to be careful. This is why I stopped drinking this tea.

2. The ingredients aren’t organic.

In terms of taste, this is one of the best teas I’ve ever had. I used to drink it regularly until I became concerned about the effects on my health. So I finally bailed on it completely.

That’s the power of herbs – you need to be careful.

But if you don’t care about the health issues, and you like licorice taste, this is a wonderful blend. I only wish I could still drink it.

I love ginger. I love ginger tea. I love this ginger tea.

My one gripe: They put stevia in there, but not nearly enough. I’ve been a fan of ginger/stevia combo for a long time, but I usually do it with loose-leaf. I was glad to see that they had added stevia to this tea. But sadly, it isn’t sweet. It just tastes like plain ginger tea.

Still, it’s a great ginger tea. I like to use it as an aid for digestion.

1 bag in my 32-oz teapot works fine. I give it a long steep. 10 minutes or so.

I love this tea because

- rooibos is my favorite tea
- I can buy it in a cheap 100-pack from Amazon, and
- it tastes as good as any other rooibos I’ve tried.

I go through tons of this stuff. It’s my staple tea. Love it!

I steep 1 bag in my 32-oz teapot for about 10 minutes.

One of my favorites. I don’t like caffeine so I steep the bag in a little hot water for 30 seconds, then dump it (to get rid of most of the caffeine). Then I fill my 32-oz teapot and let it steep for 5-10 minutes. It ends up very tasty and satisfying. As good as any white tea I’ve tasted. (Note: I haven’t tasted expensive white teas.)
