This one smells sooooo delicious! (Another tea I snuck from Kittenna) but the end result is not nearly as tasty as I wish it were. There’s an after taste here that reminds me of soap…I’m sure it’s the coconut. Too bad as this had the potential to be delicious! Thanks Kittenna!

Kittenna

Oh no! Soapy is not good.

Sil

you like coconut though… so you’ll probably like it

Kittenna

Not soapy coconut :(

Bleh, I see what Sil meant about the soapiness. This tea smells deliciously limey, but the flavour definitely doesn’t live it. There’s some nice citrus flavour, but there are overtones of soap, which kind of wreck it. It’s possible that it’s tequila flavour or something – it’s not nearly as unbearable as soapiness in some other teas I’ve tried – or it could be rancid coconut. Tough to tell. Oh well.

It’s very good if you have it iced.

This is my second time having this tea and I’m a fan. I don’t taste most of the flavors listed (lime, lemon, etc.)… maybe I taste coconut? Whatever I taste, it’s good! There’s a mellow creamy-fruity flavor that balances the black tea nicely. This could be a tea to get again. It reminds me a bit of Della Terra’s Rainforest Nectar, which I liked a lot more than this one… but they’re not selling it anymore, so…

(Sample from silentrequiem. Thanks!)

Debbie

I hate to break it to you but they’re also not selling Mojito Italiano any more either. :-/

Christina

Whaaat? I seem to be having the same experience with Della Terra as you are with Teavana.

Debbie

At least Della Terra will reblend if you ask and give them money.

Christina

I didn’t know that. Thanks for the info!

I haven’t had this type of mojito before. It smells really good. Like the Chiffon and coconut. While I’m used to mint, the flavour is a nice blend of coconut and citrus flavours. (Now I must try it iced.)

From KeenTeaThyme:)
I was hoping that this was the tea that I had started getting at my favorite tea shop. I had the thought that if they went out of business (I hope not!) that I would still be able to get this tea.
Hmm. The flavors are very similar. Has I think the same ones. But it doesn’t quite match up to my memory of the other tea. I think I would have to do a side by side comparison, with same amount of water, tea, sweetener, salt.
Yeah that’s right I said salt. :) I know it may sound weird but the salt helps bring out the flavors more.
Hmm. I just salted this cup, didn’t seem to do much.
You know, even with a side by side, I think I’m going to think that it’s a no with these two being the same tea. Pity. The shop owner also told me that she was considering not getting this tea again because it didn’t seem to be selling well, but a few people had asked for it, so she did. Well maybe if she does stop selling it she would be more willing to tell me what company it’s from.

This was lovely. I had a cup of this hot while I was waiting for my jug of iced tea to brew.

Hot: Brewed three minutes, no sweetner. The flavor was light but pleasant. The “mojito” came out more as an aftertaste.

Iced: I preferred this as a cold tea. I brewed this with a 2:1 ratio of tea to sugar. I drank this all day and it was quite refreshing. It wasn’t overly sweet, and again the flavor wasn’t overpowering but a pleasant subtle sidenote to the tea.

A nice blend but I’m not sure if I will buy again. It seems it could have used more sugar than I’m comfortable putting in my tea.

Bland, soapy-tasting- possibly from the coconut flavouring. A bit of citrus zest flavour in the aftertaste.

Thanks to Kittenna for sharing!
