From Celestial Seasonings

“We took our beloved, soothing Chamomile tea and added the taste of orchard-fresh apples to create this satisfying blend. Pure chamomile from Egypt and Mexico is combined with the juicy flavor of crisp apples and a touch of real honey to achieve the delicious sweetness of this comforting tea.” — Charlie Baden, Celestial Seasonings Blendmaster Since 1975

OK, who am I kidding? Nothing new or notable to say about the tea; just need an avenue to vent :) It’s good chamomile. The apple is a nice touch. That’s really the only part of this you need to read.

A day of multiple small frustrations—supposed to profile two people for a magazine, both of whom are late getting information to me. Trying to balance grace and patience with Don’t you KNOW I am writing this piece for a new editor and I’m already four days overdue???

Had a lovely chat with the mom-in-law and grandma-in-law, who cheerfully provided the details on their new dietary restrictions, and of whom neither can have green tea. And…guess what we got them both for Christmas; package already mailed and under their apartment mini-tree!

That’s just #1 and #2 of a dozen or so…you’ve had days like that too, yes?

Understanding my need for something gentle and soothing now? ;)

Em

Sorry for a day of frustrations. It’s a good thing that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it :)

Not extremely nuanced, but the chamomile is better than expected for bagged, and you can taste the touch of honey and apples. Had to throw out my box after this pot, though – it technically expired in December..

This is probably the most mediocre herbal tea I could possibly imagine. Celestial Seasonings? Check. Chamomile? Check. Artificial fruit flavor? Check.

The flavor is primarily that typical Celestial Seasonings chamomile dust, although the apple and honey so show up just a touch at the end of a sip. This is not an exceptional tea. This is not even a good tea.

And yet, I am typing this as I finish the last bag from a box I bought less than a month ago. I cannot honestly recommend this tea to anyone as something to seek out, but if you have a box around and enjoy chamomile, you will probably finish it the same way I did. It’s the kind of tea you can break out every night after work without even the thought of rationing it out. Will I buy it again? Probably not. I do like Celestial Seasonings Chamomile, but the other blends just do more for me. But, like I said, I drank an entire box in just a few weeks, so there is obviously something about it that works, even if it only manages to be dully “okay.”

Last one from my family’s stash for the day. I was expecting to dislike this, but it’s a nice chamomile, and the bit of apple is a really fun addition. They go really nicely together. I drank it hot, and I feel like the apple might get a little lost if served cold, but I’ll try it if my local Walmart ever stocks this tea.

This tea was not quite what I was hoping for. Celestial Seasonings has quite a pleasant Chamomile tea, but the apple flavor was very artificial. I’ve used this in a couple of homemade blends, and it’s better there. It was actually quite intriguing blended with Adagio’s Sour Apple. I’ll use this box, but I don’t think I’ll be buying more.

This tea is perfect for when you have a sore throat! It always makes my throat feel a million times better! I love the combination of the apple and the chamomile. They really compliment each other well.

This is an excellent tea. The apple flavor makes the chamomile more interesting while remaining subtle. I love to drink this before bed and definitely, it is one of my tea-must keeps.
