From Canton Tea Co

Entirely hand-made from Fuding Da Bai Hao tips and sun dried, this delicious silver needle white tea is a high quality Yin Zhen with the characteristic white hairs on a pale green leaf. This high quality Silver Needle white tea has been infused only with the freshest hand-picked jasmine blossoms. Unlike many Jasmine teas this is an authentic infusion made by scattering the Jasmine flowers over the tea buds over several nights so the buds absorb the naturally sweet, heady scent of the jasmine.

The liquor is light and bright and the taste is soft and mellow with the notes of Jasmine lifting the flavour and leaving a long and pleasant aftertaste.

Brewing tip : The Chinese brew this skillfully made tea very lightly so a serving of just 2 grams will be enough to give a delicious infusion. Brew at 75c and infuse at least 3 time.

I got a bit of this from TeaEqualsBliss and it is very tasty. This is a very smooth sweet tea with a kinda syrupy mouthfeel. The jasmine is elegant and sophisticated here with a slightly sunbaked grass flavor from the white tea base. The flavor of this tea is all innocence and grace. I hot brewed a cup and then used the same leaves in an overnight cold brew. Both were tasty. Every time I have a floral tea as well done as this, I can’t help but feel like a princess. But how can a princess be drinking tea in between doing dishes and feeding her dogs? Something’s not right! haha

In any case, thank you for sharing TeaEqualsBliss! It’s taking me forever to get to all the teas you sent me. And I still have all these teas from 52Teas’ grab bag sale. Then David’s Tea sent me a replacement for the Perfect Glass Mug* (because I broke the strainer) with samples of 3 teas, 2 of which I haven’t tried before! There’s untried teas up to my eyeballs! And a friend I work with claims I give him a lot of tea. hah! I only give him a small baggy full once a week or so. I’d give him more, but I’m afraid of revealing how large my tea collection actually is. People are already eying my DT perfect mug set with raised eyebrows.

*The whole set! ‘Cause they don’t sell the strainer part separately! For free! What excellent customer service! I feel bit bad about it, but hey, free mug! I’m giving it to my sister since she admired it when she saw mine. No strainer for her though. I needs it for my tea!

My co-worker tea buddy swears he is never going to buy tea again – as long as we are working together. I beg to differ if he doesn’t learn to like green and puerh tea soon :p

Yum! Green and puerh! What’s not to like?

This is just perfect for me! It’s weird because I’m not usually drawn to Jasmine nor am I a fanatic of Silver Needle but this is really great! I don’t know what it is but it reminds me of my grandparent’s (RIP) backyard in Florida…the way it smells…the taste of the tea is super crisp and clean. The Jasmine doesn’t have that funky old floral after taste that some have….yeah…it just seems like everything is RIGHT with this Jasmine Silver Needle! YUM!

I just remembered about my hidden package from Canton Tea Co. (My husband was pulling in at the same time I was pulling packages off of the front porch and I had to act quickly!) I pulled it out and checked over my forgotten teas. This one seemed to call to me, and I obliged it.

The jasmine scent that wafted out of the package was unlike any that I had encountered before. It’s extremely fresh and fragrant. Simply amazing! The leaves are fuzzy, whole and delicate.

160/2 min. The jasmine is still ever-present in this tea. The scent and now the taste, too, are full of it. It’s a most unusual jasmine taste that I haven’t encountered before. It’s like I just steeped a fresh jasmine blossom. The silver needle tea is so delicate and is very much overpowered by the jasmine in the first steep. The tea does become more discernible in subsequent steeping. Everything about this tea screams quality and delight. It’s a rare experience, and a magical one, too.

Edit: I wanted to include a note about this tea when it cools. I’m on the second steep and it has completely cooled. Now the flavor is so sweet it has taken on a jasmine-fruit note that is extraordinary. One of my best encounters with jasmine ever, hands down.
