From Camellia Sinensis

A worthy representative of the great teas of China, this white tea consisting purely of buds catches the eye at first sight. The lively and silky liquor fills the palate with fruity and vegetal fragrances (straw, mushroom). Long and delicate, its finish is flowery (chamomile) and refreshing.

The apricot and artichoke flavor description is spot on. I always turn to this tea after running as it is very refreshing and energizing. I should try it cold or with agave very soon. Overall this is a quality white tea and the price is alright. I love this.

The “drag” feature doesn’t work on my phone, so…
I used 3 g leaf in a moderately-sized gaiwan, 200 F water, brewed for one minute.
This is the Spring 2024 wild silver needle from Verdant Tea.
I don’t have a ton of experience with white teas, so I had to play around with it a bit. Lower temp water just didn’t work. The flavor definitely came out with water 200F to boiling. I don’t think I’ve had artichokes before so what came to mind were a light combination of vegetal and slightly sweet, fruity notes – apricots, yes.

Something that someone at the office had, and I realized that I’ve never actually had CS’s Silver Needle before despite having tried a bunch of other weird or interesting white teas that they offer – so I asked if I could make myself a cup and was told “Of course, help yourself!”. I love being in an office of tea people…

This was fine, but nothing to write home over. A little bit fruity, but mostly just your typical floral and straw notes. Kind of chamomile-y, which is probably at least part of why I didn’t LOVE it. Not big into that flavor profile…

I absolutely love this tea. The taste is really mild but refreshing. The kind of tea that makes you feel relax and zen.
