Apples Aligned, Coming Undone

This was the advent I wanted most this year, so I’m very excited to have one.

This cup screams caramel apple pastry to me. It tastes a little more like a caramel flavored with apples than a caramel apple, if that makes sense. But while it’s sweet, it isn’t cloying. I’m getting just a hint of cinnamon in the aftertaste.

My absolute favorite fall flavor is caramel apple, and this is done well. I’m going to want more of this.

BrutaliTeas Advent Calendar 2022 – Day 1

Happy December, tea people! \o/

I’ve been so excited to be able to start opening all of my advents, and the day is finally here! Sadly I have an all-day work meeting today that started at 8:30, and there wasn’t really any decent natural light in my house before that so I haven’t had a chance to take photos yet. But I did manage to hastily take one of this tea, so I could enjoy it as my first tea of the day during my work call!

So I steeped this as a black tea, not realizing it has gunpowder green tea in it as well. Luckily, that’s a very hearty green tea so it doesn’t seem to have had any adverse affect on the taste. This is a yummy caramel apple black tea (I don’t taste the gunpowder). It has a desserty sort of apple flavor, like a sweet apple tart or cake with caramel sauce. I don’t get much of a spice profile from it, though it does contain cinnamon, but I’m not missing it either.

Enjoying it this December morning! It’s sweet and desserty without being cloying, and it’s giving me maple vibes which is perfect for breakfast.

The first blend from the Brutaliteas advent calendar, it was a delightful apple creme brulee blend. I just wish the apples were more present.
