From Arbor Teas

Wow! This wonderful version of a silver needle-style organic white tea from Kenya is truly outstanding. The large plump buds (ranging from 1 – 1.5 inches in length!) are covered in light silver down, producing a delicate cup with a lovely peachy blush that hints at the subtle fruity note to come. With an aroma of sweet straw combined with a slight grapefruit note, this tea tastes like it smells! The delicate cup is further enhanced by a refined dryness that floats in the mouth leaving a subtle glow.

Sourced from small family farms on the Eastern slopes of Mount Kenya, our organic and Fair Trade Certified Kenya Silver Needle White Tea is a real delicacy that proves excellent white tea does not always have to come from China.

I ordered this because I tend to drink Darjeeling silver needle and wanted to attempt an African white tea to see what I thought. My first thought is on smell, they’re pretty similar. But the Darjeeling has a much more pronounced taste and again is a bit more bold to me than this turned out to be.

Finishing off my sample of this tea. It’s not such a bad white tea. I might have to increase my rating. The flavor is still quite delicate, but thats not always a bad thing. I’m picking up a lot more of the floral notes this time. It’s a lot better than the heavy-hay flavored whites that I usually come across.
