I picked this to drink because of the ginger root. It’s been on my shelf since my last Adagio order, when I picked out several of the Hobbit blends. I am a fan of Cara McGee’s blends so far, & this one is warming with spices, kind of like a Chai, but different.

We are watching the hobbit on DVD right now! Lol! I need to get some of those blends!

thank you terri for this one! I’m not sure if it was the steeping or something i did but this tastes mostly just like a slightly spicy vanilla black. However, i am a-ok with that because it’s pretty tasty! it still has that weird black taste that all adagio blends seem to have that i dislike but it’s not objectionable in this blend because of the vanilla :) Thanks terri!

Kili is the reckless one. the younger one. definitely the flirty-er one.
this tea is all chai-ish with it’s cinnamon and it’s cloves and it’s cardamom. and it has a strange scent that i cant quite place and don’t quite like. perhaps it’s due to the way the SLIGHT vanilla mixes in?
i love ginger and i love vanilla too. but i don’t get much of them in this cup.
i don’t know. this tea is confusing. kind all over the place. but it does blend in the end i suppose. haha, just occurred to me, this is probably appropriate for ADHD Kili.
(i’m thinking about making a ginger-nilla lapsang blend via adagio? or maybe just lapsang vanilla.)

a powerful dwarvish head bonk to you Shadowfall!

I might cry bc I’ve had this tea for well over two years (oops) and I’ve finally grank it all! This and Bilbo were my teo FAVES from the sampler pack. Yeah. I’ve had this tea when it was called Kili.
But I love it tons and I want more <3

Mmm, the second time I brewed this was decidedly more underwhelming than the first…the flavours came out mostly as just ginger and cardamom (or maybe cinnamon) and it went terribly bitter as it cooled down.

Overall this cup wasn’t half as much fun to drink and I’m adjusting the rating accordingly. :/

Teeny Tiny TTB Round 2

I’m actually quite pleased to see this (along with Fili) in the box, since there are a lot of fandom samplers on Adagio that I’m interested in, but not quite interested enough to buy. I do have to say, I find Fili to be far more attractive than Kili, and I don’t even normally go for blondes. So Fili is totally “The Hot One” imo. :P Anyway, this tea. The black leaves are in very small pieces, and there are tiny pieces of white stuff mixed in (I’m assuming ginger root). It smells chai-like.

I can definitely smell strong clove and ginger in the steeped tea. Yeah, this one is not for me. It’s mildly spiced, but in a way that’s almost savory because of the ginger. This is basically clove and ginger tea. :P Noop.

The vanilla is much stronger here than I expected. I was worried it would be a strong chai taste but mostly it is like a spiced vanilla tea. It is actually quite nice so thank you Roswell Strange for sending some my way. 169.

The last Hobbit Tea to try cold brewed!

I’m remembering when I was at Robyn’s place and we watched both the Hobbit movies and her roommates severely judged me when I found sick, on his last limb, dying Kili to be the sexiest thing ever. Hot damn; take me now Kili, if you have the strength to do so. I mean, even though you’re looking fine you’re not really looking so fine, you know?

But anyway; that’s definitely not really super relevant to the tea so…

WHY IS THIS SO GINGER HEAVY? It makes me really, really sad because the ginger was basically all I could taste overtop a mediocre black base with maybe a tiny faint presence of vanilla. I mean, actually it was ok but definitely not anything more than that. And I am fearful of the hot cup. I don’t see the hot cup being any kind of improvement on this one.

So basically, nope.

I recommended Kili, but not Kili inspired tea.

Cameron B.

Sounds like all of the Hobbit teas are spice-themed… :(

P.S. – I find Fili way more attractive than Kili!

Basically all of them but Party King…

Unsure what to make of this one. I’m finding the cloves a bit too much in the blend, and it’s ruining my enjoyment of other teas, as my mouth is numb almost instantly. It’s a bit of a vanilla-y chai, “but different” like Sil said in her review. I doubt I’ll go out of my way to buy this, however it’s still an okay tea. Super happy I got to try it though – and that’s thanks to jump62359. Mucho gracias!
