From Adagio Custom Blends, Cara McGee

Dark, smokey, and stronger than you could possibly imagine. Starts out sweet and rich, but will quickly burn you with heat. If there’s anything this tea is not, it’s dull.

Inspired by the AMAZING Moriarty Cosplayer, scienceofdestruction, aka Tobie. YOU ARE AMAZING, AND I ADORE YOU. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVELY 333

Interesting tea. I grabbed it because I’m becoming a huge fan of Cara McGee, and the ingredient list seemed compelling to me. Vanilla chocolate ginger chai with a gunpowder base? Okay, I’ll bite.

Really unique blend, and I understand now why the description reads “never dull”. Every sip is a bit different. Sometimes I get smoky chocolate, other times (like my last sip) I’m getting vanilla chai with granular ginger. The base is always present, it’s just the accents that differ.

Do I like it? It’s intriguing. It’s far from love, however I do appreciate the blend and complexity.

Thanks MissB!

This is really good. I love the spices and chocolate in this. YES! It’s much sweeter and more enjoyable than I would have expected from Moriarty, but there is a little bit of ginger in there just to make it… interesting.

Don’t turn your back on this!

Sipdown! 178/397

This has gone from my cupboard to my wishlist. It’s still not available on the UK Adagio site, so I might bite the bullet and place an order with the US site, import charges be damned. That being said, the chocolate chai definitely consists of 90% of the flavour profile, so maybe I should just order that and be done with it. It really does remind me of the Mycroft blend, and I just can’t wrap my head around the fact that they don’t share even one tea in common. This tea is delicious spiced cake, heavy on the cinnamon and clove, with a warming heat from the ginger right at the end of the sip. It’s a very fitting tea for Moriarty, and a very tasty one to boot.
