From abbey tea

China – BuLang Shan mountain, XisShuangbanna county, Yunnan province

This is an incredibly fantastic, rare, high quality raw Pu erh tea brick from an ancient tea forest on the famous BuLang mountain. The whole leaves are hand-picked from old arbour trees at altitudes of between 1500 – 1700 metres.

Grown at such high altitudes means that the trees grow slower, thus developing complex delicious flavours. Harvesting in the spring after the tree has “rested” in the winter allows the trees to store a lot of nutrients in the leaves and buds giving the tea a rich, mellow taste.

After picking, the leaves are dried naturally and are traditionally pressed into the characteristic “Chocolate Bar” shape of 8 pieces, in a mould. The resulting tea tastes sweet, mellow and fresh with no hint of bitterness.

We recommend to break off one piece of the twelve pieces and use half per brew and allow a short steeping time of 3-5 seconds according to taste.

The tea bricks are naturally dark in colour and are packed full of healthy antioxidants and catechins.
