I don’t know why I never thought to combine cranberry and honeybush before, but this blend is (imagine Charlie Sheen here) WINNING! Had a glass of this iced last night, and it was like something you wanted to let slowly melt in your mouth. slightly buttery-, bakey- goodness sweetened with hints of juicy orange and ripe cranberries. This was absolutely like drinking a cranberry orange scone with creamy butter on it. This is a caffeine-free, guilt-free, 100% vegan-friendly blend of African honeybush, orange peel, freeze-dried cranberries, freeze-dried orange sections and natural flavors.

Don’t miss your chance to scoop this one up. I think it might end up being another Cinnamon Roll Honeybush (If you don’t know, that one was (and is) incredibly popular).

A sample from KittyLovesTea! This is another one I never thought I’d have the opportunity to try, but it just goes to show that you never really know. I love Frank’s older honeybush blends — they just seem to have something about them that I miss in more recent creations. Not sure what it is exactly — I’ll have to put some more thought into that and try and work it out! Anyway, this smells pretty bland while brewing, but really comes alive to taste. I added a splash of milk to try and augment the buttery, bakey flavours, and I think it worked pretty well in that respect. I was also trying to tone down the base a bit, although possibly I didn’t need to because I’m not tasting much honeybush at all really. It’s pretty subtle, and gladly. I’m getting orange, but not cranberry so much. It just about starts to come out as it cools, but it’s almost undetectable. There’s a definite “scone” taste, though, and that’s what I was really looking for. Combined with the orange, it’s a pretty heavenly tea flavour as far as I’m concerned. I might try it without milk later on to see how that works out. I’m definitely looking forward to a second cup after a difficult week! It’s truly gorgeous stuff. Thanks again to KittyLovesTea for sharing this with me.

Thanks to Azzrian for this sample

Well, it’s time for my nightly brew of Rooibos tea since I don’t want caffeine, but want some tea tonight. This tea sounded delicious and smelled quite nice. I’m not getting a whole lot of flavor coming through, though. I’m getting the butter and orange, but not so sure about the cranberry. When I drink this, I don’t necessarily think of scone.

As it cools off I think I can taste a little bit of the cranberry.. but not much. And actually, when it’s really cold, I can really taste that butter. Of course, I didn’t leave much tea for when it was really cold, so I couldn’t really do adequate tests. Oh well, maybe next time..

Azzrian

Actually that is about how it is for me too.

Kittenna

I think that was my impression too.

I’m so conflicted whether to re-up my 52Teas 12 month subscription. It is very nice not stressing whether to pick up an unusual flavor offering, knowing every one will come to me. On the other hand, one does get swamped with tea. I see my last tasting note was Mar 2012 and although I don’t log every tasting, I’m fairly sure I’ve only had three or four cups of this. I love the orange scent from this cup while sipping it hot but I am looking forward to trying it cold. Iced tea takes forethought from me since we don’t bother to make ice in cubes regularly. I plan to reuse this cold steeped in the fridge just as I did with the Walter Bishop and Strawberry Rhubarb Pie honeybush.
