Another sample from AJRimmer, thank you! Prepared hot and plain in my trusty work thermos.

The base is rich and malty, but this cup turned out a bit astringent for me and is leaving some drying on my tongue after the sip. I can taste the raspberry and a bit of cream, but they are being overshadowed a bit by the heavy malty/woody base notes. I think in retrospect this would’ve worked out better as a latte, since that would’ve smoothed the rougher breakfast tea-esque edges and added a bit of sweetness to perhaps bring out the raspberry more.

It’s fine, just leaning more toward “fruity breakfast tea” than “desserty tea” like the name suggests. I do appreciate the omph I’m getting off the black base this morning, though. I daresay I feel like doing something productive for a change!

I can taste a hint of berry on top of a black base that I feel could be a little richer. I don’t notice any elements that would make me think of a parfait. This one just turns out a little too simplistic to me, and the raspberry could be so much stronger.

Another tea pouch I finished off in May but failed to log in real time. I don’t recall much about this tea except that it last about three days in my posession. I love raspberries, especially when they’re paired with vanilla and multi-note black tea blend like seen here.

(52teas (Anne) 2022: 278)

I think this is the most raspberry-tasting tea I have ever tried. It is utterly delicious. Base is smooth but I do have a feeling that it could get astringent without careful attention to infusion time. I’ll have to compare this to… that other raspberry black tea Anne did a while back. Raspberry Beret (I looked it up). (Also TIL, I have 6 different raspberry teas from 52teas. I don’t remember the raspberry flavour ever being this vibrant!)

I’m also getting Butiki vibes; I think she must have had a raspberry tea that had some similarity.
