15 Tasting Notes
Rating this as an average between the bags (bleh) and the K-cups for my Keurig machine (tolerable).
The bagged version of this didn’t taste like anything special to me – just a typical light flavored green tea. We had this in our kitchen, but most of us tea drinkers have decided it isn’t for us.
The K-cup version seemed to have a stronger “green” taste to it, which was acceptable enough for me to drink but I don’t plan on ordering another set of Bigelow Green Tea K-cups again.
My cousin gave us a sample of this for Christmas one year, as part of a “let’s get together for tea” gift, and it’s been a winter favorite of mine. I like it as a drink to warm up with after a morning of shoveling snow or being out in the cold. Nice mix of spices, not overly spicy but not weak either. Definitely not a strong black tea, more of a mellow black tea.
I tend to stop at a local coffee shop for a chai tea latte in the morning, but ever since picking up a couple bags of this at the Walnut Creek Cheese store in Walnut Creek, Ohio last October, I haven’t been stopping at the coffee shop. For a powdered chai tea latte mix, it’s actually got a great mix of the spices you’d typically taste in a chai tea latte.
