This is quite good. It has a strong hibiscus-orange flavor that I definitely enjoyed. It’s on the tart side, but I certainly don’t object to that. I’ve tried several herbals from Fava Tea Co. in this box that I really liked, so I might need to put in an order with them eventually.

Flavors: Hibiscus, Orange, Orange Zest, Tart

I think those were all from me! So glad you’re enjoying them. Fava is my favorite local tea company. :)

Thanks for adding them to the box! They have an online store, so I may have to put in an order sometime.

I have a cold today, so I decided it would be a good day for this. I’ve taken echinacea before in pill form, or in cough drops or herbal blends but I’ve never tried it plain before. It’s actually rather pleasant. It has a mild taste that’s a mix of herbs and hay. It’s not at all bitter. I enjoy the flavor enough that it’s something I wouldn’t mind drinking regularly, so I’ll definitely keep some in my cupboard for when I’m feeling under the weather.

This has a rich raspberry-hibiscus flavor with a light accent of rose that adds depth and complexity. It’s a bit more of a candy raspberry flavor than my standard raspberry tea (raspberry zinger by celestial seasonings). I really enjoyed it. It would be a good would to try blending with a chocolate tea and/or some extra rose petals.

Flavors: Hibiscus, Raspberry, Rose, Sweet, Tart, Thick

hibiscus is often times too tart for me

rosebudmelissa

I really enjoy it.

to each their own eh? some people hate shou puerh because of the fermentation taste/smell. my one friend relates it to manure

rosebudmelissa

Yes. I know there’s plenty of people who find Hibiscus too tart.

So, I definitely thought this was a tasty oolong, but I didn’t taste pineapple at all. In fact my experience of this tea seems to be wildly different than the flavors other people have noted. I got a nice roasty mineral flavor which none of the seventy other reviewers have noted. I may buy some and see if it has a different flavor when fresh or if it got some flavor contamination. If not, I’ll still have a pleasant oolong to drink.

This has a strong Hibiscus-berry flavor, with an end note of peanut butter. Kind of odd, and not really what I would associate with a torte (although I’m not exactly sure what a torte is, although I think it’s some kind of pastry).

This is a pleasant strawberry-hibiscus tea with a noticeable cocoa note. It could use a bit more chocolate, so I may experiment with blending this, but I do like it.

This is a wierd one. The loose tea smells very pleasantly nutty, but it tastes oddly sour, and the nutty flavor isn’t all that strong. I don’t like it nearly as much as I first hoped I would

This does not taste like fig or rose to me It’s more of a light hibiscus caramel flavor, but it has an unpleasant aftertaste that I can’t quite identify, and it’s a bit too sweet. Not for me, but not terrible.

The scent of the leaf and brew wasn’t really impressing me, then the sweetness of the stevia hit on my first sip, so I dumped the rest of the cup. I cannot stand stevia.

I’ve had this one before, and it’s surprising just how fruity it is. I quite enjoy it, so I’m bumping up the rating a bit.

Bio

I drink a lot of herbal tea, and the occasional cup of traditional tea here and there. I enjoy experimenting with my own blends. I also enjoy stories, board games, music, nail polish, philosophy, science, teaching, and faith.

Flavors I like:
Tea (unflavored/dessert blacks, dark, floral or flavored oolongs, jasmine green, unflavored/fruity/floral whites)
Desert (caramel, cheesecake, chocolate, cream, honey, maple, molasses, vanilla)
Spices (allspice, anise, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, ginger)
Fruit(apple, blueberry, fig, grape, grapefruit, honeydew, lemon, lime, mango, orange, pineapple, plum, raspberry, strawberry, tangerine, watermelon)
Flowers (chamomile, chrysanthemum, hibiscus, jasmine, rose)
Nuts and seeds (coconut, hazelnut, pecan, cashew, sesame)
Grains(barley, rice)
Herbs (dandelion leaf, echinacea, green rooibos, honeybush, mint, rosemary, thyme)
Vegetables (carrot)

Flavors I Dislike: cardamon, elderflower, licorice root, stevia, tulsi; artificial cherry, and almond flavors; bitter smokey, leathery, medicinal, or overly sweet teas

Allergies and Sensitivities: lavender and stevia upset my stomach

I have participated in the Overboard TTB, the Butiki Herbal Blending Box, the Butiki Educational TTB, and the Puerh Beginners Box. I ran the Herbal TTB and the Monthly TTB Club, and am currently running the Herbal and Decaf TTB.

Ratings: I rate teas based not on their objective quality, but on how much I personally liked them. I mostly do this because it’s an easy way to tell at a glance if I’ve tried a tea before and if I’d be interested in buying it. It sometimes takes a while to sort through and find out whether or not I’ve reviewed a tea without rating it.
90-100: Truly excellent tea, will buy again, could drink it every day but might save it for special occasions because it’s just that good, will miss it if it’s not in my cupboard.
75-89: Really good tea, would buy. Might be a solid everyday tea, or something that has a strong appeal but doesn’t quite amaze.
66-74: Good tea, would buy, but will also look for better
50-66: Probably wouldn’t buy this tea, but would drink it if offered
33-49: I will never buy this tea, and would probably even turn it down if it was offered to me.
1-32: I hope to never drink this tea again

I currently have a young baby, so while I’m drinking lots of tea, my activity may be sporadic.
