45 Tasting Notes
Very nice and very unique tea I keep having at an Italian restaurant here in Kyoto. Unfortunately they keep their teabags in a glass jar so I can never find out what brand it is but the tea itself is lovely with a definite but subtle pine flavor. I believe it also contains mint and some other root like substance but I can not place the taste exactly. It certainly keeps me coming back again and again.
Quite a delicious mix. White peach is very strong while Earlygrey could have been a bit stronger. I also did not like the amount of bitterness on the first brew but I think it was just my excessive steep time. Second brew of the same tea bag provided a very mellow white peach flavor tea.
I am not able to pin the flavor. It tastes like a very mild black with no tannin bitterness at all and is nice with milk. Seems like a very light desert tea. Not unpleasant, but without being able to associate the flavor with something in my mind it seems like there is a mental gap that affects the tea drinking experience.
I remember liking this tea a lot the first time I tried it but this batch is definitely a sub par experience. The promise of spearmint and chamomile mix was not delivered right with neither spearmint nor chamomile recognizable and the whole mix tasting like “some herb” tea.
Except for chamomile the other 2 flavors are not very pronounced, but it is a nice chamomile blend nevertheless. I brewed the bag twice, second time around with some green tea added to the pot which made for a nice variation.
