Today I went to Bon The Place for a Japanese Tea Ceremony. The instructor was very knowledgeable about the matcha she was serving and instructed my friend and I on the meaning of each step in the ceremony. We got our own little private room in the back of the shop for the entire ceremony with very nice traditional music playing in the background. We even got a chance to try the entire preparation on our own to serve to each other! I would highly recommend this experience for anyone who is interested in the traditional methods of preparing matcha.

I have visited this shop in the past and only have good things to say. I am always served a sample of the day while I’m browsing the teas. I am really impressed at the selection of teas there are available.

The staff here are wonderful. Really really just the best sort of people. They’ll offer you free samples when you come in as well as a genuine sort of smile which is always nice. The tea selection here is immense and varied with lots of unique and interesting teaware as well.

The one thing about this place to note is that it doesn’t do too well for a sit down tea shop. I find it too quiet it there to actually sit comfortably, but if quiet is your style then give it a go!

Good tea, good prices. A nice atmosphere, perfect for dropping in and having a pot of tea (with free refills, no less). They offer tea classes and high tea kinda stuff as well. The website, however, lists inaccurate prices and they don’t seem to respond to emails.

Friendly staff and a large selection, also hot samples are made for you when you walk in the store. The focus is on flavoured teas and blends, there aren’t a whole lot of pure teas, but I have enjoyed all that I have bought here.

I love Bon The Place. Free wi-fi, happy atmosphere. Not to mention their “tea wall” which consists of hundreds of teas you can try and buy.
