Well well ,on the outside this tea machine looks great lots of great features ,, lots of good reviews , check out the u-tube vids.
But atlass this is not the machine for me , let me explain ,
This machine is probably ok if you enjoy full fermented tea , black , red , assam, tetley, red rose, lipton. etc. where the tea is very strong.
It seems to me that the strong tea will mask the “chemical taste” that the breville leaves in the pot of tea. but if your a fan of white , green , matcha, and even oolong tea you can detect the chemical left in the tea pot.
I Started to be in denial re the chemical taste, for i payed $300 Canadian dollars for this fancy machine IT MUST BE A Fantastic Machine ,,.. but after a while even some friends were noting it ( the funny taste).
so i contacted the manufacture, and they indicated it was the “new smell” of the machine . So as instructed i cleaned it out with vinegar , then baking soda ,many many times yet still the taste was there. Breville sent me another two of these machines .. to no avail they all tasted funny with all light teas. I wish this wasn’t the case , what i use it for is a variable kettle for my teas now.
I suspect that it’s the large silicone gasket that separates the german made glass carafate section to the heating base.
Has any one noted this ?? am I just crazy ?? … wait don’t answer that.
need feedback .,, ollie
