This tea tastes like cake. Angel food cake to be exact. It does smell horrendously sweet though, which I had to get past at first. I actually had to leave the room while it was steeping because the smell was just too much for me!

But once I got past the smell, which mellows considerably once the tea is steeped, I did really enjoy this taste. It’s definitely a sometimes tea though, rather than one I would drink often. I can see how this could cure a sweet tooth in the evening, because seriously… cake.

I brought the whole box of Harry Potter themed teas from Adagio to work today to let everyone try out whichever one they wanted… it was quite a hit. I think I caused an early morning commotion!

I decided I’d try this one since for some reason I was convinced that the Elixir of Life tea from this collection has chocolate in it… it doesn’t. But because of that I was craving a chocolate tea. This one definitely hit the spot.

It is by no means overwhelmingly chocolate, which I love about it, and I actually think I over steeped it because it got slightly bitter on me. Turns out that’s not really a bad thing, especially for someone who likes dark chocolate anyways. It ended up tasting like a liquid form of a dark chocolate raspberry bar. Yes please!

drank Apricot by Harney & Sons

I don’t really know what to think of this tea. I am a big fan of Harney & Sons and until now have not found a tea I didn’t like from them. I guess there always has to be one.

The smell of this absolutely socked me in the face the first time I opened it and I was not a fan of the smell. I didn’t even try it for a good month after we got it (my fiancé is the one who actually picked this one out). I finally got around to trying it this morning and I was pleasantly surprised by the scent once it steeped. It was much more pleasant and smelled like something I actually wanted to drink.

I grappled with how to even describe what it tasted like to me. The initial flavor I got was decidedly black tea and then it sort of moved on to what (and I really hesitate to call it this, but) tasted chemically. The finish was pure apricot to me and was a nice flavor to be left with, but in the end I actually poured out the last third of this cup.

I will let the fiancé finish this one, or pass it on to someone who will appreciate it more than me, as it does seem to get pretty high reviews from most people. Just not a tea for me.

I feel obligated to start by saying that I am not a big fan of mint flavored teas. That being said I was not put off my the mintiness of this tea. I’ve had this in my collection for awhile and have not given it a try until now.

The scent is all mint, which worried me a bit at first.

The taste is predominately mint, but I definitely think the hint of chamomile mellows the mint out enough that it is not overpowering. I do wish the stevia wasn’t I there though, as I do not sweeten my teas as a general rule and find the stevia has a very noticeable aftertaste, which I detected in this tea.

I definitely slept well after drinking this, but I wouldn’t say solidly as I did get up a few times during the night… probably because of all that tea I drank right before bed! o.O But it definitely relaxed me and made it easier to fall asleep. I would definitely drink this the next time I feel like I need a little push getting to sleep at night.

I have been trying to make a point to try some of the teas I have been seriously neglecting. This is one of those. I got it in a set with all the other Harry Potter themed teas and haven’t tried any of them. o.O

This one smells incredible. At first smell it seems very strawberry heavy and only a hint of vanilla. After steeping the scent mellows out quite a bit, but you can definitely still smell the strawberry and something nutty.

I didn’t think this one had that much flavor, unfortunately. I got the slightly nutty flavor and maybe a hint of sweetness from the strawberry, but definitely very little vanilla. I do wonder if this had anything to do with steeping it at a lower temperature, which I did because the water output on the water cooler at work is at about 180. I steeped it a little longer because of this, but still not it was very weak.

I am curious to try it a bit stronger and steeped at the right temperature in the future and add a little sweetener & milk like others have seemed to do with success. We shall see.

Just finished a cup of this a few minutes ago. I’ve had it a few times and while I do like it, it’s not one of my favorites. The fruity flavors blend together nicely and none is more overpowering than the other. It definitely has a mild sweetness to it, but what I think I don’t care for about it is the spicy finish. I definitely get the cardamom pretty strongly one this one. I am interested to see what it might taste like iced and lightly sweetened.

I picked this up as a free sample using my Starbucks birthday gift because I really love jasmine teas. I was very pleasantly surprised by this one. It is fragrant, smooth, and light. I didn’t realize that this would re-steep well, so I will have to give that a try when I restock!

The first time I tried loose leaf tea at home, I was hooked. I’ve been drinking tea for years now, though I still feel like such a newbie in the world of teas. There are so many things I’ve never tried from so many new to me companies!

I used to be very much a black tea drinker, but have started, in the last year, to realize that I prefer the lightness of greens and whites much more.

That said, I will basically try any tea once (probably twice, just in case)!

My review categories:
100-94: I never want to run out of these!
93-80: Restock please!
79-60: Definitely like, but not a must have
59-50: Not lovin’ it, but I’d drink it again
49 & below: nope, Nope, NOPE.
