Introducing Myself
Greetings!
I am fairly new to Steepster – I’ve been on here once or twice, but I am just now starting to record my “tea notes.” So I wanted to take a moment to say hello!
For any of you who might be familiar with the Tea Review Blog (http://www.teareviewblog.com) you probably know me, I am a regular reviewer there.
I have been blending and flavoring my own line of teas for about eight years now, and only recently decided to close my business and focus on other joys in my life. There are many reasons for my decision, but basically, I feel like this is what will be best for me and my family.
I love just about all types of tea, although I am not crazy about Pu-Erh (although I do quite enjoy the Chocolate Pu-Erh from Numi) nor do I like Lapsang Souchong. Basically, I do not really care for a strong smoky flavor or strong earthy flavor. But just about every other tea – I can usually find something to appreciate about it.
I am currently enjoying Formosa Pouchong from Narien Teas – which is delightful!
I live in the Pacific Northwest and I love it here. I have two beautiful daughters (one is 17 and the other is 8) and a very loving, supportive and patient hubby who doesn’t care for tea – but understands that I do. In addition to my passion for tea, I am also a mixed media/altered art artist.

Welcome! I’m pretty new here, too, as well as new to (serious) tea-drinking in general and so far I’ve found it to be a very warm and welcoming group of folks.
I am new here too and new to the world of tea! And I certainly have learned a lot from this website. I have read your teareview blog before so I am somewhat familiar w/you. Sad to hear that you are no longer blending your teas. I was curious to try your chocolate tea… Oh well…

Nice to meet you! Participating in this tea community has been so rewarding for me. I do know some tea lovers where I live, but none with the level of passion and vigor for the liquid brew that I see here. There are quite a few custom blenders on this site, myself one of them (and an amateur at that). However, I do relish in the bits of tea knowledge that I can tuck under my “belt” as I journey deeper into the leafy rabbit hole. What I continue to enjoy is the intense appreciation and willingness to share on all things tea with this community. I’ve mostly posted about the simple blending approaches to flavored blacks, and can imagine that it gets much more complex from there. Perhaps one would really need to be in tune with the characteristics of how the different types of leaves work to give them ample creative blending opportunities – and successful tries at that. But you know what, trying is always the first step to successful attempts – so we’d benefit from all giving ourselves pats on the back for throwing our hats in the ring. Even if it’s just for our own personal enjoyment! Love you all. :)
