Tea Companies donating to Haiti
Do you know of any companies that are donating profits to Haiti relief efforts? If so, post them here so people know where they can help out.
There was already a discussion about Teavana, but I wanted to get a discussion for all companies. Teavana is matching up to $20,000 donated to CARE.

Sweet Leaf Tea has donated tea.
I have been chatting with one of the girls at Sweet Leaf Tea! Here is an update from them…
I just wanted to give everyone an update on the fundraiser. We’re still collecting funds from some of the other businesses that participating, but in total, we’ll have raised more than $6000 that can go to immediate use thanks to everyone’s efforts. It was amazing to see everything come together so quickly – thank you all so much!!
The money basically fills three large vans or small planes full of food, water, and medical supplies, along with other miscellaneous needs. Here’s one example of a van-load of supplies that Makarios put together:
20 tarps
300 diapers
120 bags of oatmeal
15 cases of water
240 pounds of salamis
228 pounds of powdered milk
20 containers of cooking oil
30 cans of beans
75 pounds of rice
15 boxes baby cereal
Antibiotics and painkillers for 80 people
an assortment of other medical supplies

Great topic! There is a lot of devistation here…another earthquake yesterday morning. The people are just great…despite the devestation and desperate trial they are facing many are working hard to try and get some form of normalcy. We are doing our best to help in any form or fashion. My hat off to the Tea Companies! And to you. A challenge: if you love tea – donate!

Thank you for this topic Jason! And just a note to everyone who would like to donate, I urge you to donate money rather than supplies to an organization that experience in emergency disaster relief, such as Partners in Health, The Red Cross, or Doctors Without Borders/MSF. These organizations have far more purchasing power than we do, can buy supplies in Haiti and stimulate their economy, can purchase exactly what they need at the time, and it costs money to fly supplies over rather than buy them directly.
We’re donating 5% of our sales this week to the Red Cross, I’m really excited!

From The Tea Spot- Due to ongoing relief needed in Haiti, we’re extending our Hearts for Haiti gift set and donations through the remainder of 2010. In addition, on March 1, we’re going to advance our estimated donations that will be generated from this gift set throughout the year.
For each gift set sold, we’re donating $1 to Partners In Health, a non-profit mobilizing current relief efforts in Haiti. They have played a critical role in providing medical care to Haitians who cannot afford it otherwise, since 1985, and continue to be an invaluable resource for rebuilding the nation.
