I’m loving this tea. All the flavours are there and you know what I get overall? Extra Bubble Gum. Not the Bubblemint but the old fashioned Pink flavoured Bubble Gum. Totally delish.

A good pekoe. Very nice flavour. One must watch to not oversteep as it can get stodgy. Gave me a gut ache when I oversteeped it.

I thought it was good but didn’t blow my mind like crazy.

I wanted to try a “mate” style tea since I’ve never really tried them before. I know that technically Guayusa isn’t mate but same family/geographical area.

Tasted really nice. I really liked the flavour of it, grassy and natural. It was naturally sweet but not too sweet. The only problem that I’ve had with this is the sediment in it. It made for a weird mouth feel, like gritty style.

I will probably diversify and buy another mate variety next time to see if I like any others.

I love this tea. I keep looking for an “upmarket” alternative with a more sophisticated bouquet that compares to this but I can’t seem to find one. Everything has hibiscus in it.

I love this tea though. It’s naturally sweet and I love the chamomile and licorice combo. Just a great evening tea.

Always repurchase this. It’s a goodie.

drank Genmaicha by DAVIDsTEA

A personal favourite of mine. Genmai is what got me into loose tea in the first place. I always have this in my cupboard.

Great green tea flavour, lots of leaf which I like cause I like my Genmai to really taste of Green Tea. Buttery toasted rice all over the place, love it. I think what makes Genmaicha so addictive is that it doesn’t taste like anything else out there, it’s a very specific craving.

One note, don’t eat the rice kernels, they’re tasty but packed with caffeine. I ate a whole bunch of steeped kernels one evening while sipping on a cup. I was up all night.

drank Holiday Tea by Second Cup

My Mom used to buy this for us every year for Christmas and I never drank it. Found the latest box in the back of my cupboard and thought I’d give it a try, even though I could remember what it tasted like a bit.

For me, not so much a hit. It’s really hard on cherry which gives it a kind of candy flavour. I don’t pick up any orange at all. Brought it to work and shared and co-workers seemed to like it much more than I. I’ll let them finish off the rest.

drank Gyokuro by DAVIDsTEA

This was a very nice Green Tea. And very expensive. Which is why I had a hard time reviewing this tea. Was it worth the price? I don’t honestly think so. I’ve had other GTs that were much less expensive and had great flavour.

This tea is very vegetal. Like drinking a cup of hot vegetable stock. Like I said, it’s a good tea. But I don’t think I’ll repurchase. I’d like to try some other Gyokuro varieties. Maybe get a tester pack from Japan or something like that.

drank Ceylon Star by DAVIDsTEA

I picked this up as a 2/$5 25g special with the Organic Pure Chai. Steeped up smells great – reminds me of Chocolate Rocket. I like the Star Anise and Coconut flavours. A really nice tea and low caffeine for when I’m craving Chocolate Rocket in the evening when I ought to be cutting the caffeine.

drank King Cole by Barbours

This is the tea my parents in-law drink all the time. They do a long steep but it never comes off bitter. A good all around drinking tea. I like it better than Red Rose.

I keep it in my cupboard in case they come over but I’ve got tonnes of tea I like better.

Picked this up along with the Strawberry Rhubard Parfait while I was on the hunt for a nice tisane. I didn’t like this one either. One of my less successful experiments as both samples of tea I picked up I didn’t like.

Pineapple right off the get go big time. Really quite overwhelming. And sweet. Too sweet for my liking. And it has a weird aftertaste. I don’t think I would even like it iced.

Good news is that I gave this and the Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait to my 7 year old niece and she seemed to like it. Tastes like candy so I can see why.
