A touch bitter, but still eminently drinkable. I poured boiling water over the leaves; I think I will experiment with lower temperatures or tea to water in the future.

Very enjoyable - fresh flavor and delightful aroma. I took a tip from some website or other about pressing the hot water out of the leaves, and was able to get three or four good steeps per teabag. I poured the hot water into my mug, then added the teabag once the water was at 176 deg. F (measured with a candy thermometer).

Edit Just noticed I reviewed this before - I think they may have changed the formulation or directions somewhat. I did notice the sachet was somewhat cramped after the second steep, but it did OK without switching to a basket.

Very pleasant aroma from the dry leaves. The finish is lightly astringent but not bitter, which I appreciate. A very mellow Darjeeling. I poured the boiling water directly over the leaves. Since I only had the 1oz sampler, I didn’t do much experimenting.

The Wegmans brand (varietal unknown) was quite good. This was the first gyokuro I had the opportunity to try. I looked online and everyone had a different opinion on how to prepare it. I picked one and went with it, with good results! No bitterness whatsoever.

Eminently drinkable for a relatively inexpensive tea. Two minutes for the first steep, and however long for the second.

Now referred to as “Mount Kenya Black Tea,” from what I can tell. Good hot or iced; keeps well in the fridge overnight after steeping. The tin I had was very smooth and mellow!

Very drinkable everyday black. Second steep is OK but not nearly as good as the first.

The best black tea I have ever tasted! Do use boiling water, as the directions suggest - the flavor is radically different (and not as good) if the water isn’t boiling when steeping begins.

Worthwhile! Tear the sachet open, though, and infuse it in a basket. The sachets are too small, especially for the second infusion. Steeped just off the boil per package directions.
