This one seems to be best from all 3 I have bought (not sure if there are others available).
I let it steep longer than recommended (forgot I have prepared it :D ) and then I put it into fridge.
After 9 hours of chilling there, I got a drink that was distinctly raspberry, though a bit flat; and indeed a bit of lemon was there making it a bit more refreshing as well. On the other hand, they have on the box “lime”, which would be better in my opinion. However both fruits were quite flat tasting and sadly also the stevia ruins it with cloying sweet aftertaste
So, these cold brew bags I have prepared as intended. That’s steeping in cold tap water for 5-8 minutes. Instead of drinking it right away I decided to put the glass into fridge and drink it after coming home from afternoon (late) shift (2pm-10pm).
I was looking forward to it all shift long, knowing that refreshing glass is waiting for me and sadly I was betrayed. It was refreshing, but only fruit I have noticed was peach, very flat tasting and definitely no passion fruit; instead I got some generic, rose-hibi fruity flavour. And I have used two bags. as one should be for 200 ml only and I have used 400 ml.
Sad. But well, what I have been expecting from tea that costs a little more than euro and is bagged?
Today, I will prepare the last of 3 flavours available — raspberry & lime (while pictured and in ingredients is lemon (come on!). I hope it will be better.
Preparation
I bought 3 boxes of Cold Brew tea blends in local store in Germany, as warm (read hot) days are coming and iced tea will be a good idea how to survive them. After all, we have ups around 25°C which is very uncommon for the April (eh, May already). And we are at the foothills of Erzgebirge.
I digressed from the tea. I prepared it hot, one bag for my 500 ml mug and it seems it is a wrong preparation method for this tea. It was smelling great, but tasting flat. There is cloying stevia sweetness, stronger than peach; some peach notes… and black tea base. There is absolutely no complexity in the cup and more apptly description would be a sweet peach juice diluted with lots of water. So flat and fake tasting.
I will try cold water next time as intended, maybe even putting it in the fridge. That will be, hopefully, a bit better.
Plus points for outer wrappings.
Preparation
From the pile of loose teabags I got for christmas
I have no idea what is in this tea. Not even after drinking it. I don’t know what the flavour is, but regardless it is not good. I think there is a hint of nettle, and maybe lemon balm? It has a herbal medicine kind of taste, which might be it’s main purpose given it’s name (stomach-nice, making a pun with stomach-ache in Dutch)
Nope. nope. I have poured out most of this.
Whyyyyyy do they add stevia to so many things???
I wish I know ashmanra. Replacing hibiscus tartness with cloying stevia sweetness?
