TTB tea! This is an interesting herbal chai. I can really taste the fenugreek and anise. Something adds a bit of heat as well. It’s a unique combination, quite savory, but interesting! With soy milk and sugar, it’s sort of like a savory meal.

Day 14 of my Steepster homemade advent calendar from Kelmishka! The dry leaf of this smells like orange cream candy, and there’s actually pieces of orange peel in it. It tastes like orange candy, too, though not creamy. The base works here – not too woody but enough to keep the candy-like flavor from becoming too strong or cloying. It’s tasty for this flavor profile, though I think I prefer a more natural orange flavor to a candy orange flavor.

Delicious black tea. Scent of the tea is powerful, taste is milder, but still strong. Highly recommend this with a pinch of sugar to level out the anise. Juniper berries are the most prevalent and what make this tea unique.

Ooh, juniper and anise black tea sounds lovely!

When you open the container the juniper/woodsy/conifer scent whacks you in the face, but it mellows out in the beverage. It is fantastic! reminds me of pine forests in the winter.

I’ve had a few different teas with juniper, pine, or cedar and I always love them. ❤

This tea came in a sampler I received for Christmas last year. I’m enjoying it alongside cranberry streusel bars I made last night, and the combination is surprisingly enjoyable!

The gunpowder green tea has a smoky tobacco note that’s bringing some depth to the cup. The peppermint is present throughout the whole sip; it’s nicely balanced and not overwhelming. Overall it’s a nice, fairly light cup with simple but effective flavors.
