I have had more cups of this than I’ve logged. There’s a Second Cup next to my store, and whenever someone runs over on their break, they usually offer to get everyone else something. “Large Earl Grey, black” is probably the easiest order to remember, so it’s my automatic response. It’s not great, but it’s not bad. Better than a kick in the teeth, and hard to oversteep.
Preparation
Ugh!!! rarely does a bagged tea impress me, so I should have known better than to order this up from Second Cup where a friend and I went last night… but it was late and I didn’t feel like having a latte. I should have had the blasted latte! (decaf!)
The “caramel” in this is barely present, adding a mild caramel flavour, but it was overpowered by the orange peel… so much so that it was almost sour. I added milk, so mild caramel, strong orange notes, and milk (plus I think it was a green rooibos, not my fave) blended together to make a rather un-tasty mixture.
I’m getting tired of tasting teas I don’t like. I miss the thrill of discovering a tea that makes takes me to that happy, tea-bliss place.
*sighs. This tea gets an even lower rating because I already have a creme brule rooibos that I love, and the difference between them is just pitiful!! Sorry for the venting!
Preparation
A coworker offered to get me something from Second Cup when she ran over on her break. I asked for Holiday Tea, and she came back apologising profusely with no idea what she actually got me. It was English Breakfast – still kinda tasty, gave me a caffeine boost and warmed me up. A bit bitter by the time I got to the bottom of the cup. Nothing special, a bit boring, but a decent tea.
