TTB tea! The flavor is mostly chamomile with the lemon just showing up as a slight sourness in the finish. It’s pleasant, just not my favorite tea in its category. I gave it my usual chamomile treatment of milk and flavoring syrup, which turns anything into quite the comforting cup.

drank Bed Time Herbal Tea by Lifted Cup

Could have sworn I drafted a note for this herbal teabag from the Strange VariaTea TTB, but now I can’t find it and I finished this off last night! Basically, this is an easy drinker with a strong and soothing peppermint flavor, with a chamomile undertone. Not sure everyone would find this bedtime-y, since peppermint can also be energizing, but I did find this to be a pleasant bedtime cuppa.

drank Jasmine Green Tea by Lifted Cup

I was excited to see a jasmine green tea in the Strange VariaTea TTB! Once I actually took a closer look at this box of teabags though, I was a little apprehensive (perhaps unfairly so) upon seeing that it used an Indian green tea as a base rather than a Japanese or Chinese green. Still, I tried to go in with an open mind!

Alas, this particular tea didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Possibly because it’s a true teabag – these are clearly fannings/dust. I’m not going to dismiss the concept of an Indian green jasmine entirely. But the base on this specific one is just thoroughly… meh? It’s almost tannic. The jasmine is… fine. Feels more like jasmine additive (oil or flavoring) than jasmine scenting, but it’s still floral, slightly sweet, and doesn’t have any unpleasant aftertaste. If I had any alternatives, I wouldn’t reach for this tea, but in a limited-options situations I’d be willing to drink it.

Ashmanra’s sipdown challenge – June 2023 Tea #1 -A favorite bagged tea

Wow, I always forget how fantastic this raspberry flavor is until I’m drinking it.  It’s also always interesting to me when teas change flavor depending on the location where you drink them.  Water changes, elevation changes… SO MANY VARIABLES to how a tea changes flavor.    Gratefully, not a sipdown yet.
