The first time I had this tea was at the company’s tea house in Asheville, NC, and it was what got me started in gongfu brewing. I was used to drinking Chinese restaurant jasmines, bitter poorly made greens, and just the supermarket black tea bags. This ginseng oolong exceeded my expectations with its smooth texture and lingering sweetness in the throat, which I assume is the licorice. I loved it so much that I ended up buying an 8oz (200g) bag. This tea has great texture and flavor! (I have a sweet tooth, so I would go buy extra licorice root and add them into my brew for added sweetness)

I like a good ginseng oolong when I’m feeling rundown. Thanks for the reminder that I need to get my hands on one :)

Ginseng oolong is definitely a great comfort tea! Might I ask where do you get your ginseng oolongs from?

I enjoy Mandala Tea’s Ginseng Oolong. It’s not too heavy on the licorice root. I have heard praise for the one you’re drinking, Blue People, and have seen it for sale at Vital Tea Leaf and Aroma Tea Shop, both in San Francisco.
