Iced Sipdown (2781)!
A temporary sipdown as I’ve already decided that when Blume’s new mango flavour comes out I’m going to order that one and restock this one. So, with that determined I didn’t feel as bad finally drinking my last stick pack. It’s such a good late night open when I was something quick to make, cold, and caffeine free. Juicy and tart with a deep, dark sorta sweetness. This might be my all time favourite Blume product…
Iced and refreshing as ever! I’m getting close to finishing off my pouch of this, but Blume has been teasing a new SuperBelly flavour lately (I think mango) that I feel like I’m going to want to try. So, that seems like a good opportunity to restock this one at the same time…
Iced!
Doubled up on the stick packs once again to be able to make a very large tumbler worth of this. I’m getting quite close once again to finishing it off, and now I have to decide whether I want to repurchase for a third time. The tangy, deep red flavour of the pomegranate and punch of ACV is so satisfying and I feel like I always am in a better mood after finishing a cup of this off. Plus, I do really like having it as a probiotic source.
Just… so expensive.
Doubled up in a Nordic Mug (from DT) for an extra bold, tart, and tangy tasting iced tea to cool down with midweek. I don’t know why, but my tea drinking has been especially light this week with a bit more emphasis on herbal and fruitier blends and powders like this one. Just a weird sort of mood/craving/funk combo I’m going through?
I fly out to Toronto for the weekend SUPER FUCKING EARLY tomorrow morning for the Toronto Tea Festival tomorrow, though (working the DT booth this year). So, I’m already getting really hyped and pumped to do some serious tea exploration. It’s actually made me REALLY want to drink a shit ton of tea today, but I’ve had to moderate myself because I need to fall asleep extra early so I actually get some sleep before my flight and getting launched into an especially busy two days.
Cold shook one stick pack of this into a bottle of ice water. Normally for a bottle this size I’d probably use two backs, so this was definitely a little thinner and less punchy than I’ve become used to. However, it was still very refreshing with a pomegranate flavour very reminiscent of a Vitamin Water.
The last couple of weeks I’ve been on a bit of a Bubly kick. First with the pineapple flavour, and then with the apple. Most recently I got a case of the raspberry, but unfortunately that sort of ended the obsession since I really don’t love the flavour…
I’ve been struggling with how to use up the remainder of the case, so as to not be wasteful, and I had the idea of trying one of these SuperBelly stick packs mixed in a can to make a sparkling version. Honestly, I’m going to call it a mixed success because it DEFINITELY improved the flavour of the Bubly but on the other hand it was less enjoyable than just drinking the SuperBelly on its own. So, probably not a good strategy to use up the rest of the pack going forward since these SuperBelly stick packs are expensive.
If anyone has ideas on how to finish off the Bubly I’m down to try different things though!
Cold Brew!
Two packets for a 20 oz travel mug, which was deliciously tangy and tart with the deep and juicy pomegranate and acai flavour I love so much. I definitely could have done a better job dissolving versus the “shake method” I went with though because there were some clumps that I ended up sucking up through my straw. On me, though.
Two sticks packs shook up in a giant water bottle because this seemed like as good a choice as any for something hydrating to drink while feeling sick and, if I’m being honest, cold felt better on my raw throat than hot did most of the time…
Like a lot of what I drank this week, this was kind of muted tasting but it does have a punchy enough flavour naturally that I still tasted something. Mostly the tart hibiscus powder, but a little bit of berry too.
Cold Brew!
Marika was kind enough to pick up a bag of these for me the last time she was at Indigo/Chapters since she knew I was wanting to restock, and I am so thrilled to have this one back in my stash. when she dropped it off I immediately popped two of the stick packs into a water bottle and shook it up and just basked in the deliciously sweet, tart and tangy juice dark berry flavour.
This is officially my favourite Blume product.
Cold Brew Sipdown (2627)!
Well, I finally finished off my last stick pack of this blend and honestly I have to say there is very, very little I possibly have negative to say about this flavour. To me, the dark and juicy mix of sweet pomegranate and berries was the smashing standout of the Blume’s Superbelly line of products. If it weren’t for a great deal of self control on my part I think I would have finished this bag AGES ago.
It’s the one flavour I fully intended to restock – I’m just trying to decide whether it makes more sense for me to buy direct from Blume’s site or if I want to try and go find it in person at one of the Chapters/Indigo locations here in Montreal carrying it.
Deep, dark and juicy berries with a pop of wonderfully tangy apple cider vinegar powder. I think I’ve decided that when I finish off my last bit of these three Superbelly flavours that this is the only one I’m restocking. They’re all very good, but this one is incredible.
Iced!
I typically drink these Superbelly drinks in sets of three (so that I’m finishing them off evenly), and this is almost always the one I have first when I’m starting a new set. It’s just the best of the three flavours. Deeply juicy with such a dark, ripe berry flavour.
Iced!
I pretty much always drink these SuperBelly powders in a rotation of three to make sure I’m going through the packets evenly, but this is always the one I reach for first when I start a new rotation of three. My opinion hasn’t changed: the darker juicy berry and pomegranate notes in this make it the best of the three.
Iced!
I’ve been dabbling with how watered down I can make a single packet of this so that I have more to drink without it tasting too noticeable weak/watered down. This was too big of swing because I essentially doubled up my water but only used the one single serve. It was a beautiful striking deep purple red colour but the flavour was thin. Kind of like a Vitamin Water. Good option if you don’t want to taste the apple cider vinegar at all, but I found myself missing that juicy tang.
Iced!
Doubled up on the stick packs to make a much larger cup of this than what I have been drinking thus far. It was a little strong since I didn’t perfectly double the water amount to match the increase in powder, and that gave the juicy dark fruit notes a little bit of a syrupy quality to them. However, I still really enjoyed this!
Iced!
Drank this today as my first cuppa when I got to work. It’s still very much my favourite of the three. Though tangy with a bit more of a slick mouthfeel, I feel like it’s also the one out of these three flavours that tastes the most like fresh fruit juice. Pomegranate juice, to be particular. Coupled with the juicy dark berry notes it’s just so refreshing and dynamic tasting to me.
So Blume just released their first sub-line of products: three non-latte powders targeting gut health that they’ve named “SuperBelly”! Everything about this line kind of intrigues me, so I had to get them all the explore. The ingredient composition is essentially the same in all three, minus the different fruit powders and flavourings to achieve the three individual flavours.
I tried this one first – it was super easy to make (just dissolve in cold water) and the colour was this GORGEOUS deep purple-y red hue. From my first sip I was pretty in love, to be honest. Between the acai and pomegranate I think you taste more pomegranate, but the whole drink is sweet and juicy with these very dark notes of macerated berries and fresh pomegranate juice. You can also very clearly taste the tangy, sweet and acidic apple cider vinegar. I love ACV so that’s nothing but a win for me but, also, I think because there’s other flavours going on that this could be a really approachable way to incorporate ACV if you’re less enthused about that taste on its own.
The other thing I find interesting is the added probiotics. It’s the same strain that DT uses in Vanilla Parfait, so I know it quite well. I’ve been personally having some milder gut issues the last few weeks so I’ve been looking for different ways to incorporate more probiotics into my own routines (not just through tea), so having more options to add in to supplement that does really appeal to me – and I love that the probiotics in this blend are also supported by the inclusion of ingredients rich in prebiotics (inulin from artichokes). It’s the same kind of thing I did with all the chicory included in Vanilla Parfait…
Anyway, 10/10 for me!
TTB tea! This didn’t blend smoothly, so it’s still a bit gritty. The flavor tastes sort of off or spoiled. I taste fruitiness and strangeness. Due to the color, I’d guess this has butterfly pea flower, which definitely brings a savory weirdness. Yeah, I hoped to enjoy this, but it’s really not good. Whipped cream helped a little.
Another Strange VariaTea TTB powdered herbal, but this one isn’t purely herbs – coconut milk powder and coconut sugar are the first two ingredients. But then also the instructions want me to add more non-dairy milk on top of that? Like, what is happening here?
I did prep it per instructions, using oat milk, but I don’t love this. The texture is a bit chalky, for starters, and I’m also just not in love with the flavor. I’ve enjoyed other floral lattes before, but for some reason this one just isn’t working for me. Part of me wants to play around with it to figure out why I don’t like it, but I’m choking it down as it is and it would be better loved by someone else.
Oat Milk Latte!
Blume’s “newest” flavour is Gingerbread which, umm, yum! Especially looking forward to trying this one as an eggnog latte once the grocery stores straight bringing in eggnog for the year. I put newest in quotations because they actually did have it last year too, but it was exclusive to Chapters/Indigo. Now it’s on a ton of different channels.
It reminds me a lot of their Oat Milk Chai powder, but honestly I liked this better. It’s got some spice overlap like the cinnamon and clove but this is more allspice forward and very, very molasses-y and densely sweet. Which, y’know, makes sense because there’s molasses powder in the blend as well as other more heavy/dense natural sweeteners like date and lucuma powder – both of which have this almost “brown/maple” fruity sweetness to them. It works super well together!
Iced Latte!
Just went with regular old cow’s milk for this brew since that’s what we had in the office. This still definitely doesn’t taste like birthday cake, but it is still really delicious. I taste the cinnamon maybe the most distinctly though I would not call this a cinnamon forward drink. It’s just that it’s the only taste in this delicious amalgamation of flavours that I can clearly name. Kind of gives a bit of a Betty Crocker “Confetti Cake” boxed cake mix vibe? But somewhat fruitier. Whatever the case, it’s still delish.
Iced Oat Milk Latte!
So, this is the newest limited edition addition to Blume’s Superfood Latte line up. Of course, the idea of a superfood/functional Birthday Cake blend was intriguing to me but it was the ingredients list that really caught my attention. It’s got a lot of ingredients that are arguably just weird for the profile they’re aiming for… the spices especially.
I will say, this whisks up to be just the most adorable pastel pink colour. I mean, it just looks cute and yummy! It smelled great too – kind of a baked good vibe though with undertones that made me think of, like, almond extract.
My snap impression which, upon reflection, I’m standing by is that this is delicious and vaguely baked good flavoured but definitely not the typical Birthday Cake flavour. It’s pleasantly sweet in a pretty natural way and has a hint of warmth from the inclusion of ingredients like cinnamon and cardamom powder. I would say the tasting notes that come to mind for me are vanilla, almond, and cherry – and especially with the colour of the drink this is more the type of cake that it made me think of:

Like I said, though, still very delicious. My favourite Blume powder is still 100% the salted caramel one, but this might now be a close second. If I were to bet on it, I bet this will end up getting added to Blume’s permanent assortment. It’s very well balanced.
