One of the best white teas I’ve ever tried!
This is a wonderful white tea and very underrated. Discovering it was a pleasant surprise for me. In my book it ranks second only to a nice Silver Needle and not by much.
Tea brews to a dark yellow, will turn brown if brewed longer than 3-4 min.
Flavor is rich and delicious with a strong grassy undertone, leaving a slightly sweet aftertaste in your mouth. Leaves are unbroken and not fermented at all, tea will not turn bitter if over-steeped.
One of the best things about this tea is the aroma – for a white tea it has an unusually strong, grassy, and earthy bouquet. Excellent!

This tea was always tough to find in US. First of all, harvests are very limited (leaves gathered and rolled by hand, can only make so much). Secondly, it’s seasonal, best Song Yang is gathered in early spring and appears in stores world wide about a month later… check around April-May in US, that’s when they usually have it…
Do they NOT sell this anymore!? I can’t find it and want to try it!
