I’m not sure if I enjoy this tea. It is brothy, smooth and piquant, maybe roasted red bell pepper? Green bell pepper? It is full-flavored and there are no objectionable floavors. I think I just might not like the peppery nature of it. An interesting experience.

Got lots of steeps out of this one compared to India blacks, but not as many as from a Yunnan. Didn’t keep close count though. Pleasing, with predominantly woodsy and malty tones. Light toffee and cacao notes with some astringence. Even oversteeped this did not get bitter.

This was a sample in one of my Dachi subscription boxes. Delicious, delightful white tea! The leaves are rolled into long ovals and remind me of rustic jewelry beads. Dachi’s notes about lemon, cucumber and steamed vegetables are right on. Around steep five the characteristic light but penetrating, fine floral notes that I associate with many white teas appeared. I love those steeps. From start to finish, a joy to drink.

Sadly, I oversteeped or used water that was too hot. I could still enjoy the brothy, seaweed and nutty characteristics of this tea.

This is going on my wishlist. Brothy, sweet and spring greens with an almost minty finish. I drank up my sample at work over a few days and experienced a nice lift from this tea.

Light bodied, nutty and sweet. Flavors of toasted rice, edamame and just a light wisp of seaweed, which I find enjoyable.

The aroma of this tea reminds me of eating a traditional American breakfast. Pancakes, maple syrup, sausage links. The taste also has the sweet, savory, salty going on. The liquid is round and rolls appealingly across the tongue. Really a pleasure to drink.

This tea has a complex, sophisticated set of flavors. Definitely some dark sugar, but I would go with the more mineral and grainy taste of sucanat rather than muscovado. Candied lemon peel at the back of the sip, and eggy custard at the middle. Really, really enjoying it. I keep sniffing my empty cup between steeps.

Very nice Darjeeling, light but with full flavor. The vendor’s notes are in line with my own thoughts, finding red wine and floral notes. Would like to try this again at first and second flush.

This is a wonderful black tea. The notes from the vendor are right on target: grape, molasses and malt. Pleasurably brisk and rich at the same time. Definitely on my wish list since all I bought was a sample.
