4 Tasting Notes
“Green” is the first word that comes to mind. “Vegetative” if I’m feeling more academic. More than anything, I’m reminded of fresh cooked spinach, but not in a bad way, if that makes any sense.
If you like very intense green teas, this will be the tea for you.
Preparation
I was looking for a replacement for their Rose Marzipan Delight, and this looked like the closest thing. I am a big fan of floral teas, especially rose, so I was hopeful. Amandine Rose is more cookie-like than it is rosy, but it’s still a delicious tea, especially as a dessert tea.
This tea is amazing with honey and cream (and indulge yourself- use actual cream, not milk). The flavors don’t overwhelm the base black tea, and the aroma is wonderful.
This is my morning wake-up, with a generous spoonful of sugar and milk or cream. It’s indulgent and soothing similar to that first cup of coffee in the morning, with a comparable buzz.
Predominant flavor is chocolate, but the other flavors blend together nicely. At the store they recommend mixing it with a rooibos chai, which I will agree is a delicious pairing, especially if you’re drinking it later in the day and want to cut the caffeine.
