Tigerliled Send Message

I love me some rooibos, so I was excited to try a new blend tonight after a LOOOONG 13 hour workday. It brewed up quickly in to a comforting rusty red, one of my favorite features of teas like this. I’ve actually left the teabag in for the past ten minutes, and the flavor has only gotten more peach-like-sweet. Maybe a little too sweet…I’m missing some of the grounded earthiness of straight rooibos. However, its a little more delicate, which makes it easier for me to start getting sleepy with it.

As night time teas go, this is a gentle, warm flavor to end the day with.

And, from a purely aesthetic viewpoint, I really enjoy the teabags that Mighty Leaf has developed. The stitched edge and easy leaf viewing make this a more artistic tea experience.

Not sure how I feel about this one. I have yet to find a chai that is “it”…and after drinking this one, I still haven’t found it.

I need to steep this one for a long time to bring out the flavors. That said, it holds the delightful greenness that I hope for from mate tea. There’s a sweet aftertaste that is almost medicinal—that’s the part that gets me in the wrong way. Still not a bad cup! Warm on a cold day, add a wee bit of milk—what more could you ask for, in the end?

This is my first Pu-Erh, but I think it is a good start to the journey. I really enjoy the second steep of this one—there is a golden, grassy note that doesn’t come out with the first brew. There’s almost a “thick” nature to this tea…I’d say it tastes almost broth-like, but maybe it’s the earthy, loamy nature that I’m really detecting. I like to drink this one if I’m not feeling the best. Maybe it’s the power of suggestion that I’m getting from the packaging, but it really does seem to help my stomach if it’s off.

I am not a fan of fruity teas, by any means, but this tea is fixing to change my mind. Maybe. This tea has the backbone of a good black tea, but the sweetness that I sometimes miss in the more astringent blends. The fruit elements are earthy enough to stand up to the black tea, but never get sickly sweet. It fills your whole mouth. Best tea for a stormy afternoon.

I bought this in South Dakota, excited to support the company it represents. It was such a comforting, pleasant tea—like walking barefoot in moss. Earthy and round. I wish I could find it again!
