This tea is expensive. $22.00 / 50 g. This places it squarely in the premium / super premium market.

The tea itself is dark green. The colour of the dried leaf / brewed leaf are both very good. I agree that the flavour is buttery. I think, though, that is because of a general overall lack of taste. The colour of the brew itself is yellow. Considering that this is a gyokuro, that might be disappointing.

Really good gyokuro is amazing. This tea is average. I used $4.50 cents worth of this tea. And the result was a tea that was just average. I would guess that this is machine trimmed tea.

I’ve tried this tea several other times as well, and not been impressed with it.

It’s better to order your Gyokuro from Japan and avoid paying too much for average quality tea.
