Although I hate using the word because it reminds me of a certain drink, this tea is brisk. It has a smooth clean taste, slightly floral and a little bit of cherry. Sweeter then assam and ceylon, this is a perfect morning tea.

Zhen Mei or Chun Mee, whatever spelling they would like to use, is never my favorite Chinese green, I much prefer Dragonwell but it is interesting. It has a lot more bite then most green teas and an almost dry dusty earthiness, which is a paradox I know. Might need some honey for it.

It smells like raspberry and I can even see what looks like pieces of raspberry in the tea, however it does not taste like raspberry. The taste is astringent and bland.

A simple nutty oolong, almost cruncy. I like to oversteep it.

This is a wonderful roasted oolong, or blended oolong I should say. It has a hint of sweetness at the end, almost like grapejuice. Very enjoyable and I’m looking forward to the extra steeps.

This is a very mellow keemun, it has such a subtle taste it reminds me of tea from a chinese restaurant. It doesn’t have the distinctive smoky or chocolate flavor I was expecting. It has a light crispness to it. Drinkable but not very exciting.

Boiling 3 min, 15 sec

Unlike other Keemuns I’ve had this is less chocolate and more smokey with an almost blackcurrant sweetness. I steeped only for two minutes which was plenty. It has a brothy mouthfeel with a dry aftertaste. Nice but I like Keemuns with a chocolate taste better.

drank Golden Spring by Adagio Teas

This tea tastes just like miso soup to me, brothy and creamy with a slight sweetness. The aftertaste is a hint of very dark chocolate. This is my favorite by far of the adagio black tea sampler. I don’t know if it’s the pan frying method or what but this is the first tea I’ve had that has had an almost “soupy” mouthfeel. Very good.

Up to steep #3 and it hasn’t improved very much, slight sweetness and creaminess but the ashy/dry taste has become a little overwhelming. It isn’t the most enjoyable oolong I’ve ever had
