Mmm a nice cup of dark oolong. My sister in law gave me a tiny one cup teapot that I had to try. I did multiple brewings of this tea in it.
I used approx 2 tbsp leaves to approx 7 oz water. I did a quick rinse of the leaves and discarded the rinse water.
My first brewing was for 30 secs I tasted a hint of roasty flavour that I have come to expect from these dark oolongs but mostly got floral notes with a very slight bitter taste.
My second infusion was for approx a minute and I definitely smell and taste more of the roasted notes, still with a floral and a very slight “bitter” undertone. The colour of the tea is a nice and dark.
My third infusion was for approx a minute and 15 sec I am not getting quite a much roasted flavour as the last infusion but the floral is still there.
I can probably get more infusions out of these leave but that will have to wait until later, as will trying this for an extended brew in my tea glass at work.

This tea was given to me as a present and although I am not usually a huge fan of floral teas, this one is nicely balanced with lavender and bergamot. I still have at least a few cups of this tea left and I have a feeling it will grow on me and possibly become a permanent part of my cupboard for those days that I want something a bit different.

A nice green oolong with a creamy and slightly floral flavour. I am not a huge fan of super grassy green oolongs so this is the perfect type for me. It’s the creamy that has me hooked on milk oolongs.
I brewed this “western style” and love it.
Also “mandatory” for any oolong tea to stay permanently in my cupboard, it must be able to be brewed an extended period of time in my Libre tea glass without getting bitter (if I brew this way it is usually at work and I use far less leave than normal because of the extended brew time). This certainly passes the test. Mmmm.

Mmm cinnamon pumpkin tea….yes I am a little late with trying this one but on this wet spring day it certainly hits the spot.

Backlog from February 1.
Wow this is a super strong cup of tea. I added a bit of honey and almond milk to it. Perfect for those mornings that I am really sluggish and want that wake me up cup. It brewed so strong that it looked like a cup of coffee! (The strongest black tea I have in my tea cupboard☕️

Boiling 3 min, 45 sec 1 tsp 9 OZ / 266 ML

Very nice ctc tea that is a bit “lighter” in strength than Irish Breakfast. I have been trying to find a nice cup of breakfast black tea that I don’t need to add sweetener to (aside from the almond milk). I think I have found a good contender!

Loved this nice strong cup of full leaf Irish breakfast tea. I made a pot of it for the family and only told them it was Irish breakfast so they assumed it was the same blend we usually have. I got two comments of “What tea is this again? It’s really good.” Thanks Stacy for yet another amazing blend!

Bio

I am pretty new to trying different types of loose leaf teas. Growing up we only ever had Chinese restaurant tea or bagged orange pekoe. Later on I tried genmai cha at the Japanese restaurants and added that permanently to my tea cupboard.

So far, I like oolongs and black. Most often I drink straight teas but I do like some flavoured ones as long as they don’t taste fakey or chemically. I would like to try more greens, whites and more Rooibos’ as well as anything that doesn’t have caffeine in it to add to my cupboard.

An attempt at a rating system:
90-100 worthy of being permanently stocked in my cupboard
80-89 great tea would love to have in my tea cupboard but probably in smaller quantities
70-79 very nice tea but I don’t necessarily have to have it
60-69 will drink it but not choose to stock it
50-59 prefer not to drink it unless it is all I have
<50 total miss for my tastes
