Thanks, Azzrian for another sample. Again, I will sound ungrateful.

Indeed this does smell wonderful. Like Azzrian mentioned in her post, this is like a Danish Butter Cookie. The taste, however, does not follow the smell.

To me, this tasted like watered down coffee. I didn’t like it at all.

I’m not putting a rating on this, because it is entirely possible that I just don’t like anything at all at this point. =) It could be me and not the tea.

Apparently I’m on a pear kick.

This tea is very subtle. It has a blush color when steeped. In the bag, it has a more noticeable pear aroma. I notice more of the oolong in the aroma once it’s steeped.

Oolongs are kind of hit and miss with me. This one I enjoy. I don’t really notice the hibiscus and find the hint of pear to be pleasant.

drank Perfect Pear by DAVIDsTEA

After seeing Faith’s review, I was looking forward to drinking this. I was very disappointed.

First, I tried it hot…way too tart and it didn’t seem like sugar or honey was the right choice to improve this.

So, I poured it over ice. This didn’t help either.

I love pears. I love the Honey Pear by Golden Moon more than most teas. This tea didn’t taste like pear at all to me.

So, one banana, 5 Tums and an hour later, my stomach still hurts from drinking this.

Another bad experience for me from DAVIDsTEA. Truly unfortunate.

The vanilla rooibos you picked is excellent. Thank you. :)

Wow, I definitely didn’t find this one to be quite so terrible! On a different note – Honey Pear by Golden Moon…. actually tastes like pear?! Onto the shopping list you go (if it wasn’t already there!)

Faith

Awe, I’m sorry you had such a bad experience… this tea seems to be rather divided in reviews, maybe it all depends on the batch you get from the store?

Sandy Stith

The Golden Moon is honey first with a pear finish. The pear is very light.

This is exactly what a breakfast blend should taste like. It’s malty and a bit chocolatey.

I can understand how folks might put milk in this, however, not I. A bit of honey is the perfect addition.

It’s a beautiful dark amber color with just the right amount of astringency. This could turn into a morning favorite easily.

I must also say, the 2nd steeping is as good as the first.

A bit of a warning: this tea is a lot like coffee grounds. Find a good steeping basket with very fine mesh.

This was the first sample I tried from Upton Tea. If this is any indication of what I can expect from them, then I’m delighted.

This is a lovely Earl Grey. It’s fairly heavy on the bergamot, which is my preference. The little blue cornflowers are pretty, but don’t add (or detract) from the flavor.

I drank this with a bit of honey.

drank Almond Oolong by Adagio Teas
55 tasting notes

To say that I love this is an understatement. I drank 3 cups of it today.

The nutty, amaretto aroma is just divine. This translates nicely to the steeped cup. My friends think almond smells like cherry, and yes, I do understand that. However, this certainly doesn’t taste like cherries. =)

The oolong is smooth and not bitter and this steeps into a lovely caramel-colored liquid.

My only regret is that I ordered a sample. I’ll be going back to Adagio immediately and buying a bushel.

Note: 12 seconds later….they are out of the bushel size until early June. =(

drank Northern Lights by DAVIDsTEA

Thanks, Dylan for sharing this with me yesterday at work. This is absolutely delicious and made my office smell like a big fruit salad.

I let my boss try it and let everyone smell it. It tastes as wonderful as it smells and the apple really shines.

DAVIDsTea graciously is replacing my (ack) Oh Canada with this. I’m delighted beyond words. This will be a definite reorder.

p.s. Let me just add…I hate peppermint. I still love this and could drink it every day. =)

drank Swampwater by DAVIDsTEA
55 tasting notes

I got this as a sample from DAVIDsTea. It is a genuinely silly cup of swampwater.

I normally don’t want to drink anything nearly so murky, and well, swamp-like, however, this still tasted pretty darn good.

I could definitely taste the sunflower and the little black candy cats cracked me up.

Am I going to go out and buy this? No. It was fun as a sample.

After a day of nothing tasting good to me, this came the closest. That said, it tastes nothing like raspberries. It’s pretty much a straight rooibos.

It’s generally mild and inoffensive. I might try this cold or mixed with lemonade. By itself, it doesn’t really stand out.

After a bit of an unfortunate incident with DavidsTea today (Oh Canada), I tried this from my shipment.

This steeps nicely and has the perfect amount of caramel to counterbalance the rooibos. With a touch of sugar, it was spectacular. I’ll gladly drink this as a nighttime tea on a regular basis.

I’m on a huge caramel kick lately and this is genuinely tasty.
