drank Valentines by Adagio Teas
36 tasting notes

Ooh, just in time for the holiday, my Valentines tea arrived from Adagio. First whiff, not hugely impressed. There’s a little scent of the promised chocolate-strawberries, but something is throwing it off. Can’t put my finger on what it is. Nevertheless, I brew up a healthy portion, and as usual when trying a new tea, slowly add truvia until I get it right. I needed to put quite a bit in there to bring out the full flavors, (about 1 tsp truvia for 16 oz tea?) but once I got it right, this tea is GREAT. I mean, it definitely tastes like strawberry-chocolate candy, with a nice deep black tea base, exactly what I was hoping for. I’m very pleased!

I love flavored teas, especially black “dessert-like” teas, or teas I can make dessert-like with the addition of almond milk and truvia. Yes, I’m that girl that never orders her coffee black, and instead gets the double mocha on ice with whipped soy cream and almond shavings. Hey, that’s what I love, and I’m not afraid to embrace it! I’m on the warpath to sample as many new teas as my budget (and husband) will allow, and am pretty much working my way through the entire Adagio catalog at the moment.

I almost always hate chamomile or any blend with chamomile in it, and have detested every single Earl Grey I’ve tried (sorry…I’ve tried quite a few!).

I am lucky to live and work in the fantastic city of Portland, and I’m vegan.
