219 Tasting Notes
Thank you Nicole for this generous sample :)
A delicious dessert sort of tea. I added milk and a touch of sugar to make it extra creamy and awesome this morning. I can really taste the strawberry ice cream in a sort of Neapolitan mix of flavors. Definitely enjoyable for me :)
Have you ever had that orange fluffy dessert that someone always brings to a potluck? That was what this tasted like only if it were made with lemon instead. Wow! Another A+ for rooibos tea. I really enjoy how the lemongrass and rooibos complement each other. I would never have guessed. Everyday my tea horizons expand. I’m loving it!
Preparation
A nice change from the many flavored teas I’ve been drinking lately. I don’t have much experience with white tea, but this has a nice crisp light flavor. I’m really struggling to define the taste, but I really like it. I’ll update if I can find a way to be more articulate :)
Preparation
The tea itself is a little bitter, but so is dark chocolate, so I think it works. I added milk and a bit of sugar and it is delicious. I always find hot chocolate sickeningly sweet, so this is a fantastic alternative for nights when you want something sweet and chocolate-y or days when you need a pick-me-up.
Preparation
Yum yum yummy!! These flavors go so well together. This is my first honeybush tea. So glad I tried it. It will be a wonderful late night tea.
Sunday afternoons are my favorite time of the week. Today, I watched The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe while drinking cups of rosy lee (as Beaver puts it in the movie – nice Cockney way of saying tea). It was delightful.
Preparation
I picked up this tea at a little shop called the Golden Leaf in Tipp City, Ohio. They had a variety of loose leaf teas and this one caught my eye. It definitely has a fruity flavor. I haven’t tried many white teas, so I can’t compare. Even though fruit flavored teas are not my favorite, this one is pretty good. I think I’d enjoy it more iced.
Preparation
A big THANK YOU to Zen Tea for this delicious sample. It’s so smooth and the coconut flavor is like drinking milk from a fresh coconut. The oolong is mild and allows the coconut to really shine. This is a tea I want to have around at all times. Looking forward to re-steeping it for another yummy cup! Hoping it motivates me to get my much needed house cleaning done.
Preparation
This tea has a great story, so I must tell.
Visiting the Dragonfly Artisan Tea Cottage in Sylvania, Ohio was one of the most delightful things I have done in a long time. One of my good friends planned this trip as my 2011 Christmas present and we finally found the time to do it. The food was delightful and this was the tea we ordered to share. It is my first pu-erh tea and was pleasantly surprised about how much I loved it!! I couldn’t get enough :) It has a nice earthy flavor. I’m interested to try other pu-erhs to see how it compares. While we enjoyed our shared slice of baked today carrot cake, when tasting the tea, I could really taste the floral not of the chrysanthemum. Wow!! Complemented it so well.
Highlight of our experience there was the generosity of the owner who, when asked if I could purchase some of the delicious tea to take home, put about 3 ounces in a bag and gave it to me to take home (NOT purchase, but as a gift) along with a bamboo tea basket. WOW!
It just goes to show how amazing tea people are :)
