I was so excited to see this on DavidsTea website a while back. I had just bought an absurd amount of tea the couple of days before, so I waited a month or two to buy this.

Once I finally received this tea, I opened the bag and took a deep whiff. Holy stars in heaven, it smelled beyond fantastic. The ginger and the cinnamon are the main players in the light, complex spicy scent. I didn’t get much of the oolong smell initially.

I typically watch all my teas steep because it’s like a dance to me, the leaves unfolding around the spices moving with the heat currents. It’s a very light green, smooth liquor with a bit of a spicy kick in the back of my throat. It is a little sweet, but I think that helps to balance out the ginger, the cinnamon, and the cardamom. Obviously, without these spices, it wouldn’t be chai, but they can be a bit overpowering and the stevia leaf really helps bring out more of the oolong. Others have said that it’s a bit watery or weak, but I’ve never found that to be the case. Of course, I usually use almost 2 tsp of dry tea and steep a bit longer than average, simply because I do love big-body teas.

In short, the favorite for the semi-long foreseeable future :)
