46 Tasting Notes
I like this tea for work. It’s sweet enough without added sugar, and it tastes equally good piping hot and room temperature (when I make tea and forget to take it to my morning meeting). It doesn’t have an overbearing blackberry flavor, but I definitely notice that it’s there. The sage flavor doesn’t really come out at all for me, but I don’t mind because the blackberry is plenty satisfying. I will have to remember to notice the sage next time I drink it.
Preparation
This is a medium-bodied tea with definite notes of cocoa, but not necessarily chocolate. It’s mildly sweet without any sweetener added, but not too sweet. I love that the smell of the dry leaves and the taste of the brewed tea are very similar because I like when the two match.
Preparation
Gongfu style brewing. First time trying this type of review
0:30 – Surprisingly tasty. Some smokey flavors with a hint of chocolate?
0:45 – More full-bodied with stronger smokey flavors. I taste some fermentation as well.
1:45: Less smokey flavor and more fermentation flavors. I still taste a bit of chocolate.
1:10 – more fermentation and good black tea taste. Less chocolate.
Preparation
This is the second Whispering Pines tea I’ve had, and it’s just as good as the first. It has a smooth cocoa flavor that’s not overpowering or artificial-tasting. It’s almost like chocolate covered cherries, but not cordial cherries. Underneath the cocoa/cherry flavor is a mild black tea.
The second infusion was very similar to the first, but with slightly less cocoa flavor.
Preparation
I ran out of this but need to log it before I remove it from my cupboard. This is a smooth, comforting tea for mid-morning. The blueberry flavor combines well with the black tea, and there’s a tiny hint of sweetness that I enjoy.
I would like to have more of this in my cupboard soon.
Preparation
I got a sample of this, along with other Whispering Pines Teas, as a gift. Unfortunately, I didn’t review it when I drank it, but I remember loving every sip. IIRC, it was smooth and full-bodied, with hints of sweetness.
Reviewing it here to remind myself to buy it again.
