I love love love the scent of this tea steeped. I sniffed it until it was room temperature. I think it was the happy citrusy lemongrass that did it for me. I don’t care for the taste as much as I enjoyed the smell. It is arlight. Something in it is very herbally in a way I’m not sure I like. I’ll try a few more bags and see if it grows on me a bit. It is nice to have another herbal blend to drink in the evenings. And I now have the perfect 5oz cup for one tea bag. Adagio’s tasting set cups are my new favorite cups. I haven’t experimented with the “tea pot” part of the set yet, but I need to order more so I can get more of these cups! Great size for all the samples I’ve been trying.

This has a hint of pumpkin flavor. I was hoping the spices would be stronger, like a pumpkin spice or pumpkin chai, but that’s not what it is marketed as. It is a very warming drink. Halfway through the cup I added a tablespoon of pumpkin spice coffeemate and made more of a tea latte. Maybe a dash of cinnamon would be a nice final touch. This will be a good winter drink, the mellow warmth from the spices will be appreciated with cooler weather.

Great mango flavor, nice full flavored black tea blend. Short and sweet notes today as I am tired and making several typos as I go. Enjoyable blend, nothing especially memorable though.

Tried this with some rock sugar today. The sugar brings more flavor out of the spices. I will have to try a second steep without to compare. Not much else to say. My brain is telling me I need to sleep. Too many mornings up at 3am to get to work at 5 this week. When does Friday come?

Cofftea

Ouch! I didn’t sleep well the past 2 nights so I can relate.

Jaime

Soon. Friday will be here soon. Not as soon as we want, but soon.

So smoothly blended is this chai rooibos blend. I drank the cup up quite quickly. Thanks oOTeaOo for the sample of this. I will be ordering some with my next adagio purchase for sure. The spices are just how I like them, and the vanilla sweetens it just enough so I don’t need to add any sugar or any cream.

ChariTea

Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed this!

Strong tea base sweetened by the coconut with a great mango flavor. Not much else to say, but this was the perfect afternoon cuppa!

Now this is a Puerh I can drink. It’s smooth, earthy and sweet. It’s the sweet part that is really making this work for me. The coconut and cocoa make this really enjoyable. There is definitely a nutty taste mixed in with the sweetness. I’m just so happy to have a puerh that I can drink a full cup of, and am contemplating drinking more of! Thanks LauraR for sending this tea my way! I hope to try a few more infusions with these leaves and will report back.

Totally going to ask Lisa to get this one in at Cuppa!!

Meghann M

You should, I have a feeling you’d enjoy it. I will have to order more when I place my Art of Tea order. Can’t decide which company to order from first, Davids, art or Serendipitea.

Jaime

Well, I’ve got one in with RoT, Sanctuary T, and am working on one with David’s (emailing one of them back and forth since the site isn’t working for me for some reason). Plus got samples in the mail today…cupboard is so out of control right now.

Meghann M

Sounds like a fun cupboard. That’s a lot of orders to work through. But it’s fun. I’ve been trying to work on the samples I’ve been accumulating from the different swaps, hence me making 2 different teas at a time all day today. Trying to wait to place new orders until I’ve cleared either one samples box or made some space in the cupboard. Or a special comes along.

Jaime

Plus I bought 7 new ones at World Market on Friday. I’ve been trying to work through my samples, too. Especially since none of the samples/swaps I’ve got have been put in the cupboard on here. I’ve gotten through all but about 3 of the decaf samples. That counts as something, right?

Meghann M

That’s a good start. Oh, and I just added to your overflowing cupboard. A package is headed your way today. There are several adagio teas and some others from my cupboard you haven’t tried. Sorry to add to your sample stash :)

Jaime

I can see that you’re really sorry about that. ;-P

I’m really excited about the adagio teas. Not going to lie!!

LauraR

I really like the flavor profile on this one too….wish they make it with a plain black tea base. I am so fickle when it comes to puerh.

drank Cream Earl Grey by BourgeaTEA

I love bergamot scent, and love it in my black teas as Earl Grey. I’ve tried a few green Earl’s and been less than impressed….until now. I think the cream notes are what I needed to finally enjoy a green earl grey tea. The cream/vanilla flavor adds a smoothness to the flavor that lightens the bergamot and lets it just slip over my tongue. Much more of a silky feel with the creamy taste than I’ve experienced with other Green Earl Greys. And the bergamot is nice and mellow, enough to know it is still there, but not choking me with its perfume. Very nice.

Thanks again to Laura R for this great sample!

This tea is so much more than I had hoped for. When I glanced at bag in the box of samples LauraR sent me, I thought it was just going to be another strawberry green tea blend. Same old same old. Oh, was I wrong. This tea has so much going on but it all blends itself together very well. It tastes like a sparkling strawberry and mixed berry tea with similarities to root beer in it’s sparkle. It tastes like there is sarsaparilla mixed in with all of the goodness of this tea. I have to have another cup. This cup is gone. Teaguys make some great tea! Can’t wait to try more:)

Drool.

Meghann M

I’m sad, I can’t purchase it right now :( It doesn’t show on their online retail site, but it is on their 2010 tea list. Hopefully will get a response soon from teaguys as to if it is available by phone order. Must. Have. More.

They have many blends that are making my mouthwater. (toffee chocolate hazelnut, berkshire apple and fig, sweet pumpkin pie rooibos). YUM.

gmathis

Yum, yum, and yum … never thought about add-ins with sassafrass, but why not?

LauraR

You can order all of those blends, but you have to call. Glad you enjoyed that one. Oddly, I didn’t care for it too much.

Meghann M

Thanks for the tip Laura. I will definitely be getting more of this soon.

drank Malted ChocoMaté by 52teas
558 tasting notes

LauraR sent a sample of this my way to try along with some other samples. I’ve never had a roasted mate, just green mate in a highly flavored blend from Teavana. The tea smells of milky chocolate and something roasty and toasty.

I taste the milky chocolate, and a malt, not like an ice cream malt, but like the malty flavor of assam, a very bold assam. Whew…this is a roasty malted tea. I think I would like it more if the chocolate was more pronounced and the malt was less. Might have to play around with the brewing temp or adding a pinch of sugar to see if any more flavor can be brought out.

Live in the cornfields of IL, but not too far from the city. Expecting a baby any day now (due Oct 24 2011). Sticking to mainly herbal and low caffeine teas for now. Trying to encourage my husbands tea drinking, but he adds so much sweetner he may as well just drink diet pop. I love trying new teas, and will try any tea once.
