12 Tasting Notes
I was never a fan of pu’erh tea, but after making it into an iced latte at work one day I found it quite enjoyable! So I grabbed a small amount for myself and brought it when I went to visit my family. My dad, who always rejected my offers to buy him tea, is a COFFEE GUY if you know what I mean. Point of the story, he was interested in my description of this tea to him, and I made us both a cup with a bit of milk in it. IT WAS SO GOOD! He loved it, and surprisingly enough I did too!
I found that the usual mushroom taste of the pu’erh actually meshed super well with the subtle coffee, caramel and chocolate flavours. It was like a guilty pleasure that wasn’t…. agh what a pleasant surprise :)
Preparation
I am a big fan of black teas and their bold flavours, which is why I find nighttime a bit daunting. But this herbal tea does the trick!! It is super flavourful and offers that warming chai taste. I agree that the ginger is not very present, but the coconut is. The peppercorns offer a subtly spicy bite as an aftertaste. A spicy, sweet treat to warm you up, I find the cardamom very pleasing in this blend as well.
