I really want to like this tea, but it has an almost metallic astringency to it that really clashes on my taste buds. I’ve had it before where it hasn’t been astringent, so it might be a batch issue, rather than a tea issue.

This tea initially put me off because it has a very astringent scent to it. However, once you taste it, it has warm notes and almost a spiced root vegetable flavor to it. It is definitely a winter tea, but I quite enjoy it on cold winter nights.

This is a very fast-brew tea and I find that if it’s steeped too long it can have a bitter astringency that detracts from the lovely mossy flavor. In addition to the earthy mossiness, it has chocolate notes. One of my favorite every day drinking kinds of teas.

This tea is gorgeously flowery, with a lilac, almost orchid taste and smell to it.
